"We had a wonderful experience at the black rock lodge, the staff is amazing and you can feel how passionate they are about their work. The Tikal visit is a must. We had an amazing day on site with our guide Noel, we learnt so much about Mayan history and jungle fauna. We did also the hike to the summit and the night walk with the guide. Both great. "Spacious, amazing to have private rooftop pool. Was able to get in room massages which were wonderful. Staff was excellent. Tiny bit of noise from dog across street a couple of times but did not disturb sleep and otherwise very quiet and nice to be a little away from the downtown."

"The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was great. The property's jungle setting and landscaping made me feel like I was in a jungle. And while not a nightly occurrence, having howler monkeys howling the first evening really set the tone to remind me I wasn't in California. A special callout to the staff at Fiona's restaurant, the food was great, but talking with the staff there was super fun. I would recommend Maya Mountain Lodge to anyone and everyone."

"When we arrived we were met by Leo who was our contact for the entire stay. He was our bartender, waiter, and tour guide. Leo made our vacation memorable, he went above and beyond. The resort was beautiful and all the employees where friendly and did everything to make sure we were comfortable and happy. When we go back to San Ignacio we will be staying at this resort again. "I'm very happy we stayed here. Simple. Sweet. We did not use the AC and left the windows open for air. It was a little noisy at night, but not the fault of the hotel. Ezra made us really delicious breakfasts for us each morning. Staff were all very kind. "
