"This hotel has now become a Premier Inn. We booked in March to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. We received an email from Premier Inn saying they would honour our booking. This was not quite the case and we are still waiting to hear from Premier Inn. Having paid in full through Expedia, was told at reception on booking in that we haven't paid so a credit card was presented and payment taken (again) from that. "I had a lovely stay at the guest house! It's a beautiful, cozy house, with charming decoration, helpful staff and lovely details (I loved the complimentary homemade cookies in the room!). My only note would be that the bedroom I was in was not super spacious and its bathroom (separate but easily accessible across the hall) was extremely narrow so not sure how that would work for bigger people or couples. I would stay here again though, especially in this season with the gorgeous trees in bloom...

"We enjoyed a relaxing one night stay. We were in room 7 and the bathroom was very small. However we would still return to the hotel. The gardens were superb. We had a drink in the bar and an evening meal plus breakfast. Both dinner and breakfast were very good."

"There was no clear way to easily communicate with host. Thankfully he reached out to us when we didn’t arrive at check-out time. He was gracious, but we had no number to inform him that we would be late. I won’t be using Expedia/VRBO, or whatever it’s called again. The platform is not nearly as good as Airbnb."

"We loved our stay at the Western House Hotel. We were in the main building which was stunning. Beautiful spacious room, comfy bed. Staff excellent and food very good. We'll definitely be back. Thank you."

"Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Had a good sized ground floor room with small patio leading on to a garden which is a very family friendly area. If patios were cleaned up e.g. sprayed with Wet and Forget and tables wiped it would make a huge difference because everything else is clean and well cared for. Well situated for walks along the beach and into town. "

"Easy check-in, nice clean and quiet room. Unfortunately, I accidentallydamaged what I thought was the bathroom flush, and contacted Nick straight away. He told me not to worry at all, and explained that he would sort the problem out when he arrived. Fantastic owner, I would imagine that certain other people would take advantage of this and try and request extra payment. I would recommend this place, and would definitely stay here again."

"This was the most elegant and b&b I’ve ever stayed in. The room was magnificent and the owner/operators were fantastic. They treated us marvelously, were welcoming, and made us feel right at home during our stay. The breakfast was absolutely the best. If you find yourself in Ayr and are looking for a place to stay book The Townhouse. You won’t be disappointed. "

"Wonderful stay. Comfy bed and very quiet. I stayed single room with shared bathroom. No issues. Bathroom was spotless. I was not able to have breakfast due to work commitments but it smelt lovely. I would highly recommend and will stay again when in Ayr. "
