"A peaceful, relaxing oasis with a beautiful pool/ courtyard area and comfortable rooms decorated in a traditional style. The homemade breakfasts were incredible and more than substantial. Easy walk to town center, shopping and restaurants (but without the noise of the city). George, Sarah and Aaron were always available and very helpful. Highly recommend doing a food tour at the local market (near Plaza Grande) for better food at a fraction of the price of the touristy restaurants. Also enjoyed...

"We had an excellent stay at Villa Orquidea and still had more places on our list after a week in Merida. Our hosts Griselda, Sonia & Denise were very helpful with ideas for restaurants, things to see and private drivers. There are so many good restaurants! Breakfast was delightful including home-made banana bread, though we mostly ate light. "

The attention to detail incredible. Upon arriving I was offered the most delicious drink to cool off along with a cool wet towel. The owners are real artists and it is reflected everywhere in the home. As an artist myself I am totally inspired. This place is a real treat for the eyes. It is real oasis in a busy town. Well done. I will be back! Oh yes, the management team real class. Keep up the good work😄"

"Dave & Patrick are first class hotel operators . The room was spotless clean , nice bathroom all the amenities you need . Breakfast everyday was over the moon , never the same always delicious . The pool is heated and beautiful . The property is stunning . Looking forward to returning ."

"Don't be put off by the rough roads and decrepit buildings in this area. Behind these funky doors is a beautiful oasis of calm and serenity! The main office is a few doors down the street against traffic so it's a little tricky to find. One important thing to know is that there are no televisions in the rooms."
