This was my first time and I can really say I loved it! The pools were excellent on both sides. (kids and adults) Staff was great and the convenient little cars that would take you to the other locations was awesome. I will definitely be back!!

Perfect for a family vacation! Everything was 10/10 from the lobby staff to the super clean rooms. The food is amazing as well so many different options! Overall highly recommened!

Upon check-in, not many people at the front desk could speak English. We were given our room when we walked all the way up three flights of stairs with our luggage. We opened our room and there were other people in it. We had to go back down to the front desk with all of our luggage and sweatshirts in 82° weather and thank God for Jaylin he was a godsend as well as Galvin. They both spoke perfect English could not believe that we received a room with somebody else in it immediately grabbed our luggage, got us a different room, and personally escorted us to our room on a golf cart. The staff at the restaurants were also very nice and good service. The only issue that I had with this place was that it is too crowded. I felt like it was oversold for the holidays there were lines for everything you had to wake up at 6 AM to put a towel on a chair or you wouldn’t get one. Every beach chair was taken by 7:30 AM. There were people selling things and bothering you all day whether it was a spa treatment jet ski skiing it wasn’t a relaxing vacation on the other hand. There wasn’t a lot for teens to do. It was geared towards toddlers and strollers I would not go back to this resort. I like smaller more boutique type of places, but that is me doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with the place. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. Shout out to Galvin and Jaylin. They went above and beyond and should be recognized for their outstanding efforts.

Im Restaurantbereich ist das Geschirr, Tische, und Stühle schmutzig. Im Außenbereich sind die Tische durch streunende Katzen und Vögel voller Kot. Wenn man das Personal anspricht tauschen Sie die Stühle mit einem anderen Tisch statt es zu reinigen. Größtenteils ist das Personal unaufmerksam. Nur in den Restaurants mit Reservierung ist es besser. Das Larimar hat maximal Mensa Charakter, allerdings ist die von der Hygiene besser. Das Mobiliar in den Zimmern ist alt und abgewohnt und das Gleiche wie vor 15 Jahren als wir das erste Mal hier waren. Für damalige Verhältnisse war das ok. Alles in allem ein sehr schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr enttäuschend. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nicht ein drittes Mal.

Die Anlage an sich ist groß und vielfältig. Das Personal ist zur Hälfte sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die andere Hälfte ist desinteressiert und unmotiviert. Einige Kellner(innen) sind auch respektlos. Wenn Sie keine Lust haben, sagen Sie du sollst dir z.B. dein Mineralwasser selbst an der Bar holen. Wenn ich nicht gerade im Restaurant sitzen würde, sondern in einer Lobby, dann wäre das noch ok, allerdings ist das für ein angebliches fünf Sterne Hotel (was es in unseren Augen beim besten Willen nicht ist) kein passender Ton. Der „Hygienestandard“ ist mehr als gewöhnungsbedürftig. Das Geschirr ist teilweise nicht sauber. Im Le Gourmet ist die komplette Wand voller Schimmel. In unserem Zimmer war eine Bodenfliese kaputt mit einem kleinen Schlagloch. Mit Kindern natürlich gefährlich. In den Buffettrestaurants wurden Gurken, Aufstriche, Brötchen und andere Dinge nicht aufgefüllt, wenn Sie leer waren. Auf Nachfrage hiess es, das ist aus. Trotz Premium VIP Buchung wurden wir in ein Restaurant nicht zum Abendessen rein gelassen. Da es unser Hochzeitstag war mehr als ärgerlich. Dann sind wir zum Resort Concierge und der meinte die Mitarbeiterin ist bestimmt neu und weiß nicht was das Armband bedeutet. Wir sollen beim nächsten mal einfach mit ihm in das Restaurant fahren und er klärt das dann. Es gab so viele extrem nervige Punkte. Der Room Service funktioniert faktisch nicht! Von fünf mal kam er lediglich 1x und das auch nur auf zweimaliges energisches nachhacken von uns!

The complex was beautiful. The food was really good. Lots of restaurants that were pretty good. The staff was very good. Not a lot of staff proficient in English. There was a concierge at the end off the hall to help with extra towels, room cleaning, restaurant reservations. The rooms were ok. Clean, spacious.

When you book from Expedia , hotel never respect your reservation. They gave my family of five one bed! We reserved two beds and one sofa! This is huge scam happened to us. Everyone asked me to pay USD to them for each question. No access to the restaurant and reservation accepted when you paid extra money to employees! What? Is it all inclusive? It’s big lie. People DO NOT COME HERE IF YOUR HEALTH AND YOUR KIDS ARE VALUABLE FOR YOU!!! People urine in the pool! Mucus in the mouth and Food was seen in the pool. Zero hygiene. Children urinated in the water. The smell of sewage in the bedroom all night caused my child to be poisoned. No cold water in the room. This is a big scam. If you like to die, come here. They told me that if you want to access the service you have to become a member and they kept us in a room like a prisoner for two days until I signed a contract with them for thirty thousand dollars for sixty more trips here!!!! You must be an idiot to repeat such a trip! I told you the truth. Will you understand and believe it or will you pay and leave your physical and mental health in the hands of these scammers? When you enter the dining hall, the stench fills your nostrils and you will remember me. When you vomit from the smell of sewage, you will remember my child.

Very friendly staff. The front desk was very helpful. Each restaurant had a friendly face. The only thing I can complain about is the Dominican night. I been to several hotel in 4 parts of the Dominican Republic. I never paid extra for the Dominican music/ show. In this hotel they made what they call a village where they have the show and little bites of different Dominican foods. The show was good, but I have gotten it for free in the other hotels I been to and the food had more variety Dominican food in the buffet. Other than that my experience was fantastic. My 6 year old loved every minute of it.

Place is good for fun with Families and Kids. Rooms are old, otherwise property is great and a lot of things to inside the resort. Plan for at least 5 days are more to explore the resort and all the activities.

While the property was maintained, it clearly showed its age, and the aging infrastructure led to persistent issues. As someone with plumbing experience, the repair process was particularly frustrating; we dealt with leaks/repairs almost daily, yet staff was unqualified to address them. For example I reported a leaking bathtub only for them to replace a toilet valve—a completely unrelated fix. This lack of technical expertise, compounded by a tough language barrier, meant that problems were rarely solved correctly. Furthermore, while the pools were solid, they needed more frequent cleaning, and the trolley system was inefficient due to excessive wait times. Service was also inconsistent, as the abrasive attitude of the front desk staff felt out of place compared to the hospitality found across the resort. The dining experience was a mixed bag, though it contained the highlight of our trip. The buffet was a 6.5/10, suffering from repetition and a lack of high-quality variety. As for the restaraunts the only poor experience was the Greek. Additionally, the snack areas offered very little for those with dietary restrictions. However, the resort excelled in its care for Celiacs. With two Celiacs in our party, the staff’s accommodation was at a minimum 9/10. Every chef was willing to speak with us and prepare dedicated gluten-free meals, providing immense peace of mind. Combined with the fantastic beach, the resort is a strong choice if it can improve maintenance.

Wonderful stay! We enjoyed our entire stay at Bahia Principe bec we had the silver bracelet which upgraded us to be able to utilize every hotel pools, restos and bars in all the hotels within the compound.

The a/c in our room had issues and dripped heavily from the ceiling and on the wall, forming a very large and slippery puddle in the room that required us to throw towels over it, as it took 3 requests and over 6 hours to have it fixed. Most of the staff is not as friendly as you would expect to find at this type of resort, although there were a few standout staff members that were friendly and welcoming, but only at the Il Paradiso and Garden Circus restaurants. Many of the staff members appear to be lacking trainining or aptitude, as they are unable to answer basic questions regarding resort schedules, locations, etc. (if you ask different staff members the same question, you will get different answers from each one). VIP access was an issue, as staff members from other hotels were not aware of how it worked and they denied access the first couple of days of our stay. We had scheduled assistance with our luggage for checkout with the concierge, but nobody showed up and we had to carry our luggage down the stairs from the 3rd floor (there is no elevator in the building) and all the way to the other building where the lobby is. Overall, the place is very pretty and there is plenty of entertainment, but there were many details that could have been better.
