Our bed was VERY uncomfortable, we got a mattress topper on night 3, but slept horribly the first 3 nights. I also slipped in the shower, I reccomend asking for a shower Matt. I am younger so I was okay, but a older person might not have been.

The spa experience was great but overpriced. Beach and pool good. Food was marginable. Staff was either very nice and helpful(Maria at the buffet; EXCELLENT), or terrible (Jose-"butler"). Paid for "all-inclusive" but it was a fight to get a reservation anywhere to eat due to very low staffing. Paid for something we didn't get. Will be pursuing this with Expedia. Jose welcomed us and introduced himself as our butler. Said whatever we need, let him know, and he would take care of it. When he showed us to our room, my wife commented that she really liked Presidente beer. Jose said he would bring up 6 more right away. Failed. He was supposed to make reservations for us at 7pm. He made one but set it for 6:30pm without notifying us. Had I not looked on the app, we would have missed our reservation, and they would have fined us $20. He said he would always be at his "office", and showed us where he was. It was almost to the end of our vacation before we saw him there again. We refer to him as "No way Jose" because he failed to deliver anything that he promised. Omared was the same way. No follow through and wasted a lot of our time. Jesus was helpful and got us a reservation at the requested time and didn't take all of our time like the others did. Food at MEAT was bad. 70% fat ribeye, overcooked and soggy asparagus. Housekeeping failed most of the time. Had to call nearly daily to get towels etc. Too much dissatisfaction with the place to write here. Will never go back.

If you had problems with your booking through expedia and are looking to cancel, good luck with this booking company and the hotel. Both of them would not budge, kept going back and forth, neither of them wanted to take responsibility. Would not recommend.

Mixed feelings! The property itself is impressively large, with beautiful grounds, nice pools and amenities. From a visual and layout standpoint, the resort makes a strong first impression. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment—especially compared to other all‑inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at. The quality and variety were very lackluster. You can’t just go to the restaurants; reservations are required and reservations through our concierge was extremely challenging, even though the restaurants were often only half full in the evenings. This became a daily frustration and took away from the overall enjoyment of the stay. The beaches were attractive, but they were extremely crowded. One of the most disappointing experiences was an excursion we booked through the resort’s Dive Shop located on the beach. We had a group of 12 and paid for a private, captained catamaran. Instead, we were put on a small jon boat and didn’t depart until two hours later than scheduled because they “couldn’t get” the catamaran. The Mgr. of Guest Experience acknowledged the issue and said he would work on getting us a partial refund...unfortunately, we never received that refund. I would strongly caution anyone booking excursions thru the resort. Our room was nice and clean, but this was supposed to be on Bahia Principe’s “Luxury” side, and it did feel luxurious at all. We still managed to have a good time but I can't recommend this resort. There are better all-inclusives for the price.

Upon arrival we were greeted with kindness and care like we were their only customer. We had a quick tour through the property before we were brought to our room. Our luggage was delivered 5 minutes later. We split our pool days up between the pool, beach, and our room. Our room was 60108. In my opinion the best room on the property. If we wanted to be a bit more private, we could lounge on our patio, swim, and the waitresses would take our drink order while we swam in our basically private pool. We had a few favorite workers, our waitresses at the pool, the guy who made omelettes and eggs at Las Breas, and the bar lead at Limbo. Those 3 people not only made us laugh every day but you could tell loved their job. The buffets is a typical buffet, just okay. If you want to eat good, get fruit and have the cook make you something fresh. The a lacart restaurant all were amazing. I didn't eat one thing that I didn't love. Our trip was unfortunately cut short on both ends so we didn't enjoy the full week, but we would 100% come back. Front end, Sun Country sucks so we were a day late and I fell sick and needed to leave a day early. Lastly one negative thing. One day after breakfast we were grabbed by a Privilege Club guy that asked if we received our welcome package and started talking about a free spa voucher which we were going to do anyway. It turned into trying to take us off property and have us join this club. We were not happy. We never went back through there because of this

This is definitely not a 5 star resort compared to other places that my husband and I have visited. The room smelled like mold, the beds were super hard, the staff was very slow moving with pretty much everything. The food was gross and not all liquor and food was actually included as they charge for certain things… will not ever return here and I recommend going to a different resort due to this one just not being worth the money all around.

The staff and resort were top notch. The staff was very helpful, polite, accommodating, supportive, and knowledgeable. The resort was clean, accessible, and safe. The beach was beautiful and clean. The pool and surrounding amenities were clean and accessible when open. The entertainment staff knew how to get good crowd involvement to support the activities they held. The restaurant options were plentiful on Ambar and the rest of the a joining resorts. The food was delicious from each of the restaurants visited. Overall great experience and yes, I would return to this resort.

Resort was beautiful but wife and I got a bacterial infection from something we ate/drank on second day and spent the last 3 days in the hospital/resort room with diarrhea and couldn't eat the rest of our trip. Hospital cost $1300. Had to see a doctor once we returned home. Sickness lasted an entire week. So much for an all inclusive trip... We only ate at the buffet and Brisas and didn't leave the resort so something there got us sick. We were with another couple and they were fine and loved everything.

The property is very nice. There was minor maintenance issues with shower in my room, but it were addressed. The food was good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would have no problem going back or recommending this property to a friend. The clientele does skew older, so if that is not what you're looking for, another Bahia property might be a better choice.

The room was very clean, the salad bar options were great and so was the omelette station at the outside breakfast buffet. David entertained while cooking multiple orders at the same time. The pool was nice and active, but we preferred the gorgeous beach. We saw almost no seaweed, the sand was soft and the water was warm and a beautiful turquoise color, especially when the sun hit it. A lot of the staff were very friendly, especially in the outdoor breakfast/lunch restaurant. The restaurants were nice. It was fun to get dressed up, servers good and decorated very nice. The food was hit or miss. One appetizer would be good, the other not so much. One entree really good, the other not good. Overall, we enjoyed the restaurants though. We highly recommend the Luxury Ambar and can’t wait to go back!

All the staff was truly excellent. Ygnacia, he kept my room clean.My bed made at all times. She was such a delight to see every morning with her smile. And her friendly demeanor. Jose, from the sports bar made excellent drink. And also was very friendly. David and Sonia from the buffet restaurant have excellent customer service skills. Some of my concerns were the prices.And the gift shop, and in the coffee shop. I wanted to buy an after sun lotion that in the gift shop was $35. The same lotion I purchased on Amazon was $12. A souvenir mug I wanted to purchase from your gift shop was $40. Starbucks does not even sell their mugs for $40.

First, let me remind everyone a review is an opinion. I just got back from spending 5 nights at Luxury Ambar with two friends. I'll start with the things we liked. The beach was absolutely amazing. The sand is super soft and the water is amazingly clear. Yes, I know it is busy season. The beach was mega crowded. People were literally within arms reach all around us. We had no problem getting chairs because there were very kind staff members willing to set us up. Yes, we did tip them, which we felt was deserved. The pool is also amazing. It is huge and did not ever feel crowded (in the pool). The pool deck is very busy and packed tightly. The loungers are so close together, it is sometimes difficult to get up and down. The drink service at the pool and on the beach is sporadic. It seems there are not enough servers to handle the number of guests. Not horrible, because you can be patient or walk to the bar. We are not big drinkers, so this was not a problem for me. Strange thing: you cannot get water bottles at pool or on beach. If you request water, it will come in a small cup. You need to bring water bottles from your room. Towels can be limited. You need to give your room number to get towels. If you would like to get dry ones later in the day, they are often gone. The grounds are pretty, but dark in the evening. There are cats, they are rather cute and did not bother us. We had a swim out room. The swim out is lovely, but not private at all. Our
