"Friendly staff"

"Booked two rooms here while driving south and am so lucky they were available. This hotel doesn't have alot of amenities - no hotel restaurant, no hotel lobby, etc, but the customer service, the rooms and the location are hard to beat. Book here if you want a room to enjoy Pismo Beach area at a great value. I would stay here over and over as the staff were amongst the kindest I've encountered.- kinda like a bed and breakfast without the breakfast, but one block from the beach. Highly recommend...

"Staff of ONE… checked in at about 9pm. Checked out at about 9am same guy at front desk. He also questioned me about my ID and credit card “ is this really you..?” Rude."

"Had a wonderful stay this past weekend! Enjoyed the beach front location, use of beach chairs and towels, and the private Hot tub on our balcony! The staff were so friendly and the ocean view, 3rd floor, restaurant was delicious (although pricey). Shops and other food joints were within walking distance. We will definitely be back again!"

"We had a last minute booking and were very pleased with the Sandcastle. We ate next door at Vespara but had a better meal that evening closeby, so u was glad we didn’t stay there for the dining. The hotel had everything we needed including a generous front desk that lent us boogie boards and sand toys for our one night stay! Would definitely come back! Very kid friendly but lots for adults, too! Love the fire pits and bar / cafe but they do get occupied quickly! Parking was great!"

"The outside is really nice Spanish style however the lobby lacks the same aesthetic. It felt very clinical like a doctors office. Check in was supposed to be 3pm, but our room wasn’t ready. The bathroom was very dingy, wallpaper peeling moldy baseboards. We had to pay to park which I found odd for the location."

"We stayed for our first family trip to celebrate our babies first birthday. The location was perfect, and the view from our room was amazing. Bed was comfy, room was clean and staff was so helpful with recommendations to find a birthday cake! I have to stress that the location to the pier and shops/restaurants was perfect. I had a stroke 2.5 months ago so I have minimal energy for activity with limited Mobility and everything was within a short walk! Perfect!"

"The plumbing in the room barely worked, so we had to use the bathroom in the hallway. Our room was situated under the breakfast room, and the banging around lasted until after 11pm and started at 6am every morning. Other guests on our floor had the same complaint. The staff was uninterested in doing anything about any of it. Won't be staying here again."
