"We were amazed with the condition of this 100-year-old property! The functional areas are beautifully and tastefully restored and the traditional areas are perfectly maintained. All staff members were extremely friendly and professional, and they were eager to assist in every request. Front office staff, maid service, baggage handlers, restaurant staff were all exceptional. Our stay could not have been better, unless it had been much longer!!"

"Fife and Drum is a wonderful place to stay in Williamsburg. The location is amazing because you can walk to the museums and restaurants. Check in and parking are very easy. The place itself is charming and they always have drinks and snacks available in their quaint dining area, as well as delicious breakfast options. "This hotel is historic (OLD). Cons: You get an old and dated room with a hard bed. Pros: It is clean, safe, conveniently located and extremely affordable! I've stayed here twice since my daughter has moved to the area. Its my go to hotel for sure!"

"The tavern rooms are a completely immersive experience within walking to all things Colonial Williamsburg. The pool/fitness center is off site at the check in (about .2 of a mile) so may not feel as welcoming but worth it if you don’t mind walking. So much history! The grounds are beautifully kept and inviting areas throughout the grounds. We would love to come back and wish we had a longer stay!"

"The room appeared clean but your feet turn black from the carpet. The chain lock on the door was broken. There seem to be full time residents living there as well. This is a place to book if you have low expectations and don’t mind the dated vibe. Pool was crystal clear and well maintained."

"Check in staff during the evening was great. Staff in the morning was rude. Not bed bugs but other bugs like moths and spiders in room and bed. Bathroom shower was not clean and neither were some of the blankets on the beds. "First of all, after a 5 hour drive with two toddlers in bad weather, the room we got was NOT what we booked. I booked a suite with a pullout sofa bed. There were two double beds. I had to make a bed for my grandsons on the floor. I was told there were none of those rooms available (even though that’s what I paid for).
