Excellence Punta Cana - Adults Only All Inclusive

"I didn't know what to expect coming here. 1. Pool 10/10 For non-club members I think you only get to 1 pool. But... it's awesome and spans pretty much the whole beach side of the the resort! I was very impressed. 2. Rooms 10/10 Very clean and very nice on the inside. I've been to a lot of resorts that were more recently built and I would put it higher than those resorts. 3. Property 10/10 This property has charm! They have gardens that you can walk through that are amazing. The beachfront is very picturesque would compete with the best of them. Mountains in the front and palm trees and beaches in the back! 4. Food 9/10 The restaurants were good, but I mean it's resort food. So I've never went to a resort where the food wasn't better at a good restaurant off site. But for resort food it was great and you don't have to go through the hassle of finding a restaurant. Plus it's included! My favorite was Oregano, and Spice but everyone has different opinions. 5. Beach 8/10 The beach is very pretty, based on the resorts location though the waters are rough. It does have a bit of seaweed but the resort does it's best to clean it. Both of these are a location factor not something the resort can really fix. Give this place a try!"

"This is my second time at Excellence El Carmen, I come back to Punta Cana just for this resort. The food here is amazing. You typically don't get this high quality with an all-inclusive resort and they deliver. You can literally order a tomahawk steak that is included as all-inclusive, most resorts that is a separate charge. The hibachi restaurant is great too. Had lobster on the beach, and my favorite every day was the breakfast buffet and their coffee shop. I am a bit of a gym rat, and this place has one of the best if not the best gyms I've ever been to at a resort. Something for everyone. Great drinks and bartenders. Staff makes sure you're having a great time. Spa was great as well. Once of the best massages both my fiancé and I have had together. She even said this was the best resort she has ever been to. Love this place and we'll definitely be back again soon. I typically do 2 to 3 trips a year and have been for at least 20 years."

"This was our second time staying here and I will say that a lot of things have changed. I rated 4 stars because of all the activities they have for children but our room was another story. Firstly, the thermostat is locked at 25C which is equivalent to 74F, we were not comfortable in our room at all. Second, I booked the room with the tub because it’s easier to take my kids a bath versus a shower. The handheld hose was broken so water was spilling everywhere. The same thing for the shower that was separated by a wall and the toilet was on the other side. But the water was seeping through to the toilet. Then we had to use towels to keep everything dry and when we requested more towels it took them two hours to bring them. Maybe it was just our room but we were not happy about all the inconveniences. The room service was another story. When I checked in I was told I could order room service through the tv or the app that he made me download on my phone. I decided to use the app one night while getting the kids ready for bed. Two hours later no one came. When I called I was told those services don’t work and I can only call. So why would they tell me that. Nothing was working. We were very disappointed as we came here 3 years ago and had no complaints. A lot of the restaurants were also closed and the food options weren’t the best. Only good thing was the entertainment for the kids l. Most likely not going back."
