"While this is a beautiful old hotel, it does come with some issues. The HVAC in our room did not work. We asked 3 times to get fixed. Luckily the windows can open but the street noise was very loud. The shower was nice but water splashed everywhere due to the small glass door and very slippery. Dated but full of charm. Not a 5 star but perhaps a 4."

"This hotel is located within the free tram zone and boasts a prime location right across from Queen Victoria Market. I had planned to just whip up a simple dinner in my room, but since the place even had a full-size oven, I was able to enjoy cooking with locally sourced ingredients I bought at the market. All the staff were friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again the next time I visit Melbourne."

"Hotel charges a $50-$100 card hold which is absolutely absurd because to test a card you only need to do a zero dollar transaction. The money is also held for a full 31 days, which means that you do not have access to those funds. Stuff at check-in was entirely dismissive. Room was also not made up and the only excuse given was an apology that it was missed, which is entirely unacceptable. Hotel is in an alley and there are many homeless people at night and given that the rooms are not...
