Disliked: Room comfort
Nice house, make sure you're not in the horseboxes.
House was fine, which is where we thought we were staying), staff were nice. Lots for kids to do with games, boardgames, snooker, table tennis, bar football. Pricey for drinks, which you may expect. But £114 for a horsebox(see below) that's pushing it. Was rushing and accommodation was running out, didn't check it fully, so my fault, but £114 for a horsebox. C'mon!!!
I had a problem sleeping in the double bed in the horse box. It was my fault as I got too hot and convinced myself I couldn't breathe. Luckily I was able to sleep in the apartment as my sons were in there. My daughters slept very well in the box and they are adults and slept in the bunks
Helpful maintenance man, and all staff in the hote
This time I had a very nice welcome on arrival, a room in the main hotel building which small but clean and comfortable with a ensuite with a corner shower cubicle.
The dinner again was very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast too was very good, but if you’re an early riser, the down side is that breakfast doesn’t start until 8am. Checking out was painless also, but when I got to my car I was greeted with a flat tyre, but the hotel mainentance man came to help, with a foot pump which enabled me to get to a local tyre company. Many thanks for that.
Not much of a welcome on arrival, the girl on reception didn’t seem care if we were there or not, and this attitude was all through our stay, even when checking out. We stayed in one of the Horse Box conversions, which was unusual but very well done, and once up the the bed above the cab it was surprisingly very comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good, with a good choice from the menu. I’m staying here again this week, in the main hotel, so I’ll get a further impression.
We arrived during a crazy party. We had to wait ages to get any assistance. When we were finally given a room, we were told there was no dinner after 6pm even though the restaurant seemed busy. In short, although the hotel and grounds are nice, the staff was so unhelpful I will not be returning or recommending Brooks Country House to friends.
Lovely spot but we had to change rooms because the first one had not been made up or cleaned properly. Great place for a wedding, but may be worth checking if there is one on maybe before booking.
A fabulous hotel in the countryside with an outdoor pool and hot tub. Relaxed style, friendly staff and great food make this a place we will return to.
Set in a lovely location, off the main road in beautiful countryside. There was an outside swimming pool, which I had to myself, at the end of a very hot day. Fabulous!
I didn't have an evening meal, but the breakfasts were very good and will definitely stay here again and recommend friends and family to do the same.
For the Saturday of the Royal Wedding a lemon and elderflower cake was made and put on the bar for everyone to help themselves. Then before dinner everyone was given a glass of bubbly. Thank you Brooks County House.
Fantastic stay over bank holiday weekend. Nice quiet intimate & very friendly hotel. Food in the restaurant was excellent, but the menu was quite limited. Our room was very spacious and very comfortable, especially the bed which was fab. Wifi signal in room was very weak, but fine elsewhere in the main hotel areas.
We loved our stay here the room was very clean and comfortable and the food was delicious! The staff were brilliant and very friendly and helpful
We would visit again
Our stay was excellent through out from reception to room, staff were courteous and helpful , meals were exceptional . Can't praise our stay enough.

Mutton dressed as lamb
Grand entrance and first impression good however I had booked a room in the main house but reception said we were in courtyard. I showed my booking confirmation and the receptionist said there was a room in main house and re allocated us.
Under the veneer the mattress was sitting on a piece of chip board how shoddy! Lighting very poor in room 2 and cheap products on tea tray.
we booked in for three nights but unfortunately had to leave after one night as our son phoned to say one of our dogs had been taken ill. we were really disappointed found the hotel and the grounds spectacular but it was not meant to br
I stayed in main hall, room size was good but very basic. Bed was very squeaky. In bathroom you only get handwash, no soap or shampoo etc. Wifi was on and off and keep cutting all the time. Breakfast is served from 8 am so no good if you need to go out before 9am as even if you are quick on breakfast you cannot reach anywhere before 9 due to traffic. No beans/ black pudding in Full English breakfast and no orange juice it is all basic stuff. Will not stay again.
Your description of 'deluxe mobile home' was inaccurate as it was entirely unsuitable for us. More appropriate if we were children. We had to move to a normal hotel room as it involved climbing a ladder to get into a bed which was 6 inches from the ceiling. Had we known this from the outset we would not have booked this room type
