"The rooms modern. Bed very comfy. View excellent and nice and peaceful. Was not keen on breakfast would have preferred self service buffet. Was not keen on evening meal far too fancy. Bar service was great very nice wine. Staff were attentive and friendly. Would stay again."
"Quinta da Marka is just WOW!!!
The mansion itself is well furnished, quiet, the grounds are well maintained and amazing. The view of the Douro is breathtaking. The pool area is also simply amazing overlooking the Douro.
The food and the service we’ve had there we just out of this world. The staff is so amazing and are so helpful and friendly.
We had planned on visiting a few wineries during our stay there but were so comfortable that we didn’t move. They also produce their own wine so we just chillax and enjoyed the wine, food, pool, view, and service
The ac in rooms was working really well
Very highly recommended."
"Such a beautifully appointed accomodation, the views were exceptional.
Communication was excellent and we were able to check in 1 hour early.
The house itself is stunning and very clean, it smelled amazing as soon as you walked in the door.
Breakfast was excellent, all very fresh and a lovely setting.
We had food prepared in the evening and the quality was exceptional. The wine pairing, olive oil, pastel del nata and the port on arrival were also excellent.
We also joined Antonio on the Douro Exclusive tour. His knowledge is excellent, not a single question he couldn't answer and clearly very passionate about his country/ region and providing the best service possible.
Note that there is no tv in the room. The surroundings are beautiful enough to not need one for a couple of nights and there is also one in the shared living room, but worth noting for those who may stay longer."
"Lovely picturesque property. Guest rooms are rectangular structures mostly glasses terraced on the hills with a beautiful view of wine country. Pro-tip meals can be ordered takeout through hotel management.
Beware of ants don’t leave food out."
"An absolute delight. Beautiful, historic, modern, delicious, friendly, intimate, relaxing; I could go on. Breakfast great, wine fantastic, dinner convenient and fun, pool with an indescribably breathtaking view. We watched the cook bring the lettuce from the garden and the grapes are grown right there. A bit more difficult than we expected to go places without a car, but was a fun adventure to walk. We showed up with no plans and Maria set up all our tastings and tours. Make sure to ask the family’s story."
