"I recently stayed at Jolly Beach Resort in Antigua for four days and had a very disappointing experience. I booked this resort based on many positive reviews, as I usually rely on other people’s experiences when choosing where to stay, but in this case, the reviews did not reflect reality at all. The resort is very outdated and in need of major renovations, and it does not match the expectations shown online. The food was repetitive and underwhelming, especially breakfast and lunch, which felt like the same meals every day. Even the themed dinners lacked authenticity and variety—for example, the “Asian” night did not reflect real Asian cuisine at all. Because of this, I ended up going to local restaurants, which actually had much better, more flavorful food and became one of the best parts of my trip. The biggest issue, however, was the staff. Many were rude, unhelpful, and not welcoming. We were not properly seated at times, had to get our own utensils and cups, and received attitude when asking simple questions. On our last day, there was a power outage that was handled very poorly, with no communication, no updates, and no apology from management—even at checkout. Overall, this resort is overrated, poorly managed, and not worth the money. I would not recommend it at all."

"The bathrooms in common areas were not cleaned, the hotel ran out of beach and pool towels in the middle of the day, there were cups and dirty plates left by guests that were not picked up and staff were a hit or miss. "

"Beautiful property, very spacious rooms. Clean. Comfortable beds. Good view of the marina (depending on the room you book of course). Friendly staff. The property is on a very steep hill. This is highlighted in many of the negative reviews. If you are not comfortable walking an incline to get to your room, then this location might not be for you. You will not have access to your room with your car, but the staff can shuttle you with golf carts. A free public parking lot is across the street. Spots may be limited in high demand times, but we had no issues during our stay. There is no onsite dining, but there are quite a few amazing restaurants within a short, easy walk. Being near restaurants and bars, expect normal noise associated with that at night (others report excessive noise late at night, so it may depend on the night or local events). Overall, a great place to stay for a few nights in English Harbor. As always, do your research first and you should not experience any surprises."

"Stunning property, buildings and rooms. The beach is small and the sunbeds on the beach and by the pools are almost on top of each other. For that reason, although it’s a gorgeous property with incredible hospitality, I probably wouldn’t book here again. Unless, I was able to book Diamond. That area seemed to have more personal space."

"This is absolutely one of the worst places to vacation in Antigua, after staying in many other resorts in Antigua, this is by far the worst. The staff is very unprofessional and unfriendly. The food is the worst I have ever seen. We literally went out to dinner every night after the first night, even though it’s supposed to be an all inclusive. It was so bad. Their very limited dinner menu has mostly pork and if you want to eat lobster or steak it’s an extra charge. My wife ordered the steak and she said it tasted like dried out rubber. When we arrived at the resort, we sat at the dock to have a drink, and we were fumigated with mosquito spray and even got into our drinks. After numerous complaints to the management and asking them for a copy of the ingredient list of the spray to see if they poisoned us, they refused to give it to us and told us to call the central Board of Health. I called the Central Board of Health and they gave me the runaround and basically refused to give us any information about what mosquito spray was approved. Basically this country is corrupt. The people are corrupt. Nobody accepts any responsibility. I would not recommend this resort to anyone."
