Bliss in Gran Canaria

We were tremendously impressed with our stay at the Birdcage. The staff arranged for our after hours pick up and return to the airport. Our rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The pool was extraordinarily clean, the breakfasts and lunches were delightful, and the staff was efficient and very friendly. We are already talking about our next trip to Gran Canaria and the Birdcage is our destination of choice!

The resort was beautiful and relaxing. All the staff were friendly and I was impressed with how the guys who served breakfast all spoke several languages. Jose was a joy each morning, entertaining and very efficient at his job. The resort is a short walk from the Yumbo Centre and ideally placed. My room was clean and comfortable and they surprised me with a special breakfast table and present for my birthday, which was unexpected. The service from booking too leaving excellent.

Great gay-men-only resort near Yambo

Spend a week a this great gay-men-only resort in the heart of Maspalomas with my partner. Fantastically clean, well maintained and offered a great breakfast. Nice touches included free fizzy wine on arrival and with breakfast. The resort is clothing optional everywhere except the breakfast/bar/reception areas. It was very quiet while we were there but if you're looking for a party, Yambo centre is 5-10' walk away. Rooms are very comfortable and well presented and kept. If I were to change anything, it would be the mattress and pillows which my partner and I found not to our liking (too soft). I have to say that I was also expecting more of a "gay-family" style experience with recommendations for things to do from the owners (who we never saw), which was not really the case. The pool is eco-friendly with some sea-water setup, very clean, but also quite chilly. Hot water is also some eco-friendly setup which means you always have hot water but it might fluctuate a bit in temperature as you're using it. We definitely enjoyed our time there and would recommend this place.

Better Staff?

Stayed here on January (totally off-season) for 4 nights. The place was an amazing escape from all the buzzing activities in Playa Del Ingles. Spent most days lounging in their day beds. Super nice and quiet. The owners were really welcoming and warm although they have one staff (shorter guy) with beard who seems to be very unhappy there and doesnt bother showing it to us. We would have understood if there were so many guests that it can be stressful. However during the entire stay we were just 3 or 4 couples staying. We hope he learns to treat guests better. The lady cleaners were both nice and kind, Andree is impeccable and really knows the job! It was unfortunate that on our two days we were treated badly by that staff. Upon checking out he also gave us the total amount handwritten numbers in a piece of paper expecting us to pay whatever number he writes down. Complete catastrophy. The manager came and gave us the real receipt after demanding for it.
