"The price and quality of the hotel was a good match for me. The staff was friendly and helpful. The was nice, comfortable, and everything worked appropriately. The neighborhood had plenty to choose from fir shopping, dining, and entertainment. In my case the walk to the train station was tricky due to the numerous overpasses that surrounds the area and Google maps telling me to down streets that we're not passable."

"We had the standard room which didn't have a full view of the Marina, but we had a partial view that was still very nice. Rooms and lobby area were cozy, clean and well maintained. Appreciated that there was microwave, small fridge and coffee station; also a laundry room. Additionally we really appreciated the free parking! Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed staying at this little hotel. Only complaint would be on the second day, the bedsheets were not changed and they ran out of washcloths."

"Came here about 15years ago and the stay is much nice then some of the stays over in that area. I find it a weird that they charge to park outside and no security guards to watch the cars. But that’s how life goes. "

"Hotel Shattuck is perfectly located near UC Berkeley and the BART station. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. My daughter and I stayed for three days and were very surprised that our room was cleaned daily. The restaurant offered different meal options and it had an awesome ambiance. We really enjoyed our stay."

"The room was good. However bathroom fan was extremely loud. I was very disappointed that they really don’t have breakfast. There were 2 prices listed so I paid more for “breakfast included” and they had stopped serving breakfast. They put out wrapped pastries and muffins. That pricing should be changed."

"The hotel was a mixed bag. The staff was great. Very helpful and polite. The room was comfortabe, The area is scary. Prostitutes are working the area all day and night. The hotel is a little run down. There was some mildew the shower. When a screaming match started in the next room the staff handled it pretty quickly. The area surrounding the hotel is dirty. "Booked this hotel for a concert I was attending in oracle arena this weekend. The hotel is right off the highway very convenient The hotel its self was really nice inside/outside. I used the gym during my stay not a lot inside mainly just cardio equipment, the one machine that I took advantage of was the cable machine they had very cool that they had one the only downside to it is that there was no other attachments for it just the standard cable grip. "The hotel, and our room in particular, was pretty beaten up. The wallpaper was peeling, window was extremely dirty, and the furniture was pretty dinged up. For around $500/night, I expected a little bit better quality of the hotel/room. The front desk staff seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than being helpful to guests. I will not be staying here again and would recommend for that price others look elsewhere."
