"We recently returned from an excellent stay at the Franciscan, in a Junior King suite. The hotel is very quiet (thick walls, on a side street) and clean, with nice beds. Our room had a mid-size fridge, microwave, coffee maker and all the dishes we needed. In terms of amenities, I would recommend sealing off the second bedroom door and placing a dresser/chest of drawers in that space, so guests have a place to store personal items. My only caveat about this lovely small hotel is that the hotel...

"We LOVED our stay here. The lobby was so inviting, the common areas were wonderful with a fire lit at night and the pool and the hot tub was wonderful. Our room large, but cozy and comfortable. Staff was amazing! We really appreciated the suggestions of beautiful drives we could take. We loved riding the bikes available to us and the wine and cheese in the afternoons. Wonderful place to relax. "

"The hotel location was perfect, literally right in front of stern’s wharf. Staff was nice and the rooms were clean. Just be aware that there is two buildings. The main building and the north building. The north building isn’t on the beach, but is just a few minutes walk or a 30 second drive from the main building "

"The Eagle Inn is located in quiet, and very pretty, residential area. It is a short distance to the ocean and relatively eastywalking distance to many restaurants, shops, and museums downtown. When I visit Santa Barbara again, I'll certainly try to stay at The Eagle Inn."

"Happily paid an upgrade for premium King full beach view w/ balcony… BUT HOLD THE PHONE. We couldn’t fit two teeny chairs on the one fully OPEN front balcony if you wanted to unless you did some cuckoo, over-the-railing gymnastics maneuver & then sat practically on top of one other with your legs entangled. It was so bad that we LAUGHED… until we marinated on it some more & became legitimately peeved. Thank heavens we were out & about for much of our stay because the TV didn’t even operate...

"It’s a very cute property and our room was large and well decorated. It was a bummer that there was no restaurant or food available on property. Staff were fine but seemed a little amateur. Feels a little more like a B&B than a hotel, not necessarily a bad thing. Just depends on what you’re looking for. "
