It was great! Wonderful staff, especially the bartender who gave me a ride in her car to my building, when she saw that I was using a cane. She also bartended the party that we were attending, and served a great Prosecco!
The front desk staff were very sweet and helpful. The room was perfectly comfortable!
This is a vintage style hotel. It has some charm, the room was big and the desk staff was helpful and nice. That is the good stuff. The biggest issue was street noise and the lack of accessible food options . Nothing is within walking distance, and the neighborhood around the hotel is just not walkable. The beds were comfortable but the plumbing set up was awkward, probable due to its age, but awkward none the less. There is no breakfast on site and the hot pot for making instant coffee in our room didn’t work. I would not stay here again, and for the price I think you could do better.

The rooms were very cute! Staff attentive and nice.
Highly recommend. Spent our cross country rest day here and did not disappoint. Super dog friendly, excellent cocktails, convenient food truck open for breakfast (so good) and dinner. The staff were very friendly and hospitality excellent. The room was exactly what we wanted and so clean, charming and comfortable. Definitely returning if we’re in the area again.

I love this place- the location, the staff, the vibe.
This boutique motel was heavenly. The night previous we had stayed a very unclean motel that looked cool in pictures but was not cool in person! El Rey is the opposite, it is nicer in person and has a very relaxing atmosphere. All the rooms are decorated artistically and are very clean. My kid loved the spa and sauna. The beds were so comfortable that we stayed an extra night to sip on hot cocoa and enjoy a yummy dinner from La Reina while we watched a bit of TV. There were so many picturesque places to sit under trees and relax in the courtyard. I caught some good music and a tarot reading, so cool! I wished we could stay a week! Every member of staff was kind and helpful. We will miss the vibes of El Rey and hope to be back very soon. <3

Great hotel from 1936! Wonderful beds and good hot shower. Great coffee in the morning and the breakfast from the food truck was actually excellent. Only complaint is the pool was not open (March 1st). Understand the weather is all over the place in Santa Fe, but would have made it the perfect stay.
This is a charming place for a motel type lodging. Although it’s on a busy road once you walk back onto the property there are lots of trees and birds and the buildings and grounds are very nicely maintained. The room was very quiet. I would recommend two places to eat a very short walk away: Matisse Cafe (lovely place and great French pastries), and The Pantry. Also the Ikonic coffee shop up the road is funky and good brews.
From the welcome when I arrived, the upgrade, beautiful room, the delicious food truck and the incredible room service! Everything was top notch! Oh yes, and the hotel is perfectly located.
