It was a good experience when thinking about DR(Dominican Republic). The area was good because there were so many people walking all over the streets. There were buses nearby, which are very cheap, but we were chosen to take taxis for all of our times in DR because it was safer.
Mr. Oscar so many times called the taxis for us, and we just let the drivers know where we wanted to go. The fare was not too much, but because we did not have Dominican pesos at first one of the drivers double the money, and we ended up to triple the money for tips.Over all, taking a taxi is very cheap over there. Some drivers charged 200 Dominican Pesos; some charged 300 Dominican Pesos, and some charged 250 Dominican Pesos, which equals to $ 4, $ 4:50, and $6 US. for almost the same locations.
However, if you are travelling, make sure you have someone who speaks some little Spanish; otherwise, it would be very disappointed for you. Further, you have to make sure that you have changed your US dollars to Dominican Pesos; thus, you may end up hungry because some of the stores do not accept the U.S. dollars.
Fica bem localizado próximo de supermercado La Cadena, de padaria, restaurantes, etc. Fica a 100 metros da Praça Independência inicio da zona comercial e histórica. As camas são muito boas. A cozinha espaçosa para fazer suas refeições. Os banheiros amplos. Agua a vontade.

Great place to stay in the heart of the Capitol if you need to take care of business by visiting multiple government offices, plus it is close to tourist things to do.
El dueño del hostal es muy amable, no hace desayuno pero tiene cosa se para que todos puedan comer algo en la mañana y una muy buena disposición para ayudar.
Oscar was great!!! He knew the answers to every questions and added great suggestions for thing to do. The guesthouse is a old remodeled mansion in the colonial district. The rooms were very clean wit great air conditioning. A great kitchen to cook and two patios to relax. I could spend a month there and never get board.
Buen hotel, tipo hostal, bueno de acuerdo al costo por noche, modesto y limpio, aceptable cuando se requiere una estancia económica

Posada limpia y trato amable
My 2nd time here, and it was as good as the first. It's a B&B with shared bathrooms, but they weren't an issue. The room was small, but clean, and the a/c worked great. It's a short walk to El Conde, and also the Malecon, where I enjoyed watching karaoke on Saturday night. Not a place for those seeking luxurious accommodations, but a great bang for your buck.Oscar was nice enough to make me breakfast Sunday morning as well.
I recommend Santo Domingo Bed and Breakfast if you're staying a group or on your own. I stayed in to different rooms, nice beds and the one with my own bathroom was nice. It's more like a hostel than a hotel, but the service is good and the breakfast is ok.
The front desk is super helpful and spoke English. Lots to see in the area and it's just a couple blocks from the Zona Colonial and across the street from a hospital. I felt very safe with my two girlsfriends.
I just came back from there. The help desk people are very helpful and nice. For a hostal/little hotel it is a very good one. Rooms are not spacious but enough for short stays and just sleep. This place is walk in distance from Calle Conde, which is the shops passage and downtown. Safe hostal.
The address is not correct on the websites. It's not Calls B. It's calle Bernardo Pichardo. Call before you take a taxi at the airport.
Great place to stay for the price!!! Can't beat it
Carlos and the staff are helpful, and they help make your experience great! Santo Domingo B&B is the best priced hotel night stay in Santo Domingo. A/C in the rooms, clean sheets, clean room, clean bathrooms to share, and a nice little breakfast (toast, eggs, coffee). Not too bad for <$30 USD/night !!! You are allowed to use the kitchen facilities to cook your own meals. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils and cookware you need, except for a microwave. The surrounding neighborhood is not too noisy at night, too.
