"Lovely place to stay, the hosts where very accomadating and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast each morning was great i'm a vegetarian and had plenty to choose from. Location was spot on easy access to Scarborough, filey, robin hoods bay and whitby among others. Very clean Thank you for a lovely stay."

"Nice big room and bathroom, the only downside was staying there during a hot spell and the bathroom got the sum very early morning and the bedroom for the rest of the day making it unbearable to sleep in, even though there was a fan provided. The bottom sheet didnt fit the bed properly so with shuffling due to the heat it didnt stay on for long. Great location and a good base for visiting the area and plenty of parking. "Arrived to be given a key and parking disc , friendly but nobody overnight at a reception, big room but found it very noisy with the seagulls and road noise as single glazed windows , tap wobbly and no waste cover in shower , should have unplugged the fridge as noisy at night on and off , no plug point near the dressing table so couldn’t see when drying hair , did smell like a greasy spoon !!!"

"Lovely staff, great location and hotel amenities. Unfortunately we struggled to sleep much at all due to the single pane glass and extremely loud gulls. Appreciate it’s a very old building located by the seafront. The boot rooms are very small (which we expected) and quite tired."

"The hotel was perfect location for open air theatre 15 min stroll down the hill. Lovely decor in the hotel very clean and fresh looks like it’s had a recent refurbishment. Breakfast nearly perfect just a small recommendation to chef - just cook the sausages a little longer for that golden brown all over. "The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our luggage was safely stored when we checked out. The room was tidy and had a nice bathroom. Included in the room was a kettle and a nice selection of coffee and tea. The breakfast had a good variety of tasty food including a full cooked breakfast, omelettes, toasties and smoked salmon bagels. "Room was not cleaned on 2 days, breakfast quality was good but service disorganised, was 1st into Breakfast last to be served. Another room was broken into in middle of night, police also had to attend following night. This was my third staying at the Waves, last 2 years excellent but this year was very poor, have cancelled booking for next year. Two other couples who have been staying each year also not booking for next year. A real shame the change from last year "
