Convenient & centrally located, very close to Hoehyeon station and walking distance to Myeongdong/Namdaemun Market; the room I ended up in was quite nice*; most of the staff were friendly** and helpful; the bed was extremely comfortable; the breakfast was good (it didn't have a huge variety, but it had the basics and the foods were all fresh - breads, fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, milk/juice/caffeinated beverages); and the check in/out times were more reasonable than many other places I looked at. This hotel was good value for the price, I think.
* The first room I got, #402, was bigger than the room I originally reserved (it had 2 single beds, not the 1 double bed I reserved) but it was not good. The furniture & fixtures (especially in the bathroom) were old and worn out, it was missing the chair or loveseat all rooms were supposed to have, and the room was very dark (only one small window, which faced a wall). But when I went back to the front desk to ask for a different room, the staff immediately gave me another one, which was much nicer, no questions asked.
** One of the male staff members, who seemed to be the manager or the senior member of the desk staff (he was there the most often of all of the staff members I encountered during my stay), wasn't particularly warm, friendly, or welcoming - to be fair he may have just been tired or having a bad day or something. He wasn't actively mean or hostile or anything, though, just... a bit grumpy, I guess you'd say.
