I stayed at the Shanghai Lintin Holiday Hotel for one night, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. When I arrived in the evening, the front desk staff were not helpful at all. They simply handed me a key without giving any directions or assistance. None of them spoke English, so I had no idea where to go until a kind security guard finally showed me the way.
I had booked a Classic Double Room as shown online, but instead I was placed in a family room meant for parents with kids. The place was noisy, with thin walls—I could clearly hear people in the neighbouring rooms talking and using the bathroom. The TV didn’t work, the heating was broken, and the room was freezing cold throughout the night.
The bathroom was also in very poor condition. The shower didn’t work properly, there was no shower gel provided, and the toilet made loud noises every time it was used. On top of that, the room had an unpleasant smell that made the stay even worse.
The next morning, the hotel staff kept calling my room to remind me that check-out was at 2 p.m. I was already aware of that—that was the one of reasons I had chosen this place.
The photos and descriptions online are completely misleading. What’s advertised as a “wonderful” and comfortable stay is far from reality. I honestly regret spending my money here and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Even for a short stay, it’s simply not worth it.
