Excellent customer staff on Reception ....Well greeted with a beautiful smile by the staff and helpful ...Rooms are very clean and all the information is very visible and easy to understand ....Breakfast is excellent and very well served by the staff ....Overall marks 100 out of 100 ...will stay there again ....Well done and once again a big THANK YOU to the staff

Overlooking the sea. Our room was clean and tidy. Fresh. The bar was great. The whole place was amazing value. The most amazing thing was the staff. Harry and his mate on reception, the lady at the bar , the chap doing breakfast and the lovely young woman at reception. Couldn’t have been more helpful. They let me put my bike in storage. All great

Property is old but very close to the Shanklin beach. Rooms initially provided were not clean but Manjot on the reception desk helped immediately to change our rooms. We unfortunately got the road facing rooms though we were hoping for sea view (as hotel name suggests) but informed that it needs to be mentioned in the request. And biggest disappointment: POOL WAS NOT OPERATIONAL.

It's ok if you just want a bed for the evening. Very tired throughout and needs a full refurb desperately. The reception was sketchy at best and often unmanned. Don't bother with breakfast. It's not good That being said, the bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. Shanklin itself is also run down. We used the hotel as a base for the scooter rally, so didn't spend much time there, although we did like The Falcon pub. A proper local boozer. If you only need to get to Ryde, if recommend the train over the bus

Staff at Ocean View are great. The hotel needs updating but is clean and room was good. However hotel swimming pool is closed and has been for some time. Also the hotel only does breakfast. We had booked to chill at the hotel use their restaurant and pool unfortunately this didn’t happen. Just needs to update advertising so on knows what to expect. View from room is fantastic which helped.

Everything was perfect apart from we got up to late for breakfast and couldn't get a coffee. But there was a little coffee shop in the hotel next door open so not the end of the world. Kettle in the room would've been nice but wouldn't put me off staying again. Good value for money.

Great views from the bedroom towards the sea (apart from the infamous Shanklin lift shaft). Sun rise while lying in bed was fantastic to see. Staff were great and the food was good. Although some areas were a little worn and could do with a bit of TLC, it was very clean and tidy.

Rooms were average Breakfast- super delayed , all dishes were dirty- not just one or two. We stayed for two nights , both the mornings the breakfast was so delayed and they couldn’t manage the number of guests. The staff tried their best to give us good service but there was only so much they could. Poor management Wouldn’t recommend to stay here

First of all, this is a guesthouse not a hotel. They do have free parking and their location is perfect. There is sea view and they are by the sea lift, which unfortunately wasn’t working. The hotel itself is adequate, the deco is basic and aged. The room is also quite basic, there is also no aircon or fan, thankfully the sea breeze came through when the balcony door is open, our balcony had a sea view which was very nice. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. It only serves breakfast between 08:30 to 09:30, but there was a group of travel tour who also stayed at the hotel, and there were only 3 staff serving all the guests. It ended up being a very long wait for breakfast, which they did acknowledge and apologised. However, I would question if the 10 o’clock check out time is appropriate, as breakfast is until 09:30, and they clearly couldn’t serve everyone in time, how is it realistic to ask guest to check out by 10am?

Pleasant, convenient and very friendly hotel with great staff. Very nice breakfast and evening meals. We had a very nice sea facing room with a good bed. Handy for the sea front and Shanklin.

Staff were very courteous and welcoming... unfortunately being a little out of season, the swimming pool was closed, as was the bar... breakfasts were plentiful. The rooms were comfortable but could do with a little more wall art to make it a bit more appealing. This was a more noticeable for the bathroom, more colour to brighten it up. Overall, the hotel is spacious and I'm sure during the season period very lively. Would recommend staying here, as the location is ideal for the beach and town.
