"Very friendly staff all round .The hotel needs a bit updating stairs to room ,we stayed in Apple blossom room which was spacious with a large bathroom .Mini fridge in room with fresh milk nice touch .The room was comfortable in the heatwave ,with a fan included . Felt the detail of cleaning could of been better ( big cobweb under window and handbasin cracked and behind the taps could of done with a clean ) The setting and surroundings really make this hotel a good find .Breakfast served by...

"A perfect stay for 3 days fishing . The room was amazing / the breakfast superb and served by very pleasant helpful girls !! Also great value !! Parked 80 yards away ( no problem ) . Couldnt fault the Guest House in any way at all !! We will definitely be back now we know how good it is !!!! Well done ALL the staff Regards Malcolm Davis and Steve Barton"

Highly recommend for peace and quiet, friendly staff, beautiful location, safe and easy parking, short distance to many local attractions. "The reception was welcoming and made you feel that your stay will be comfortable. The room was clean but the furnitures shown years of neglect the fridge didn’t work and in the bathroom the basin was cracked and looked like this had happened years ago the toilet needs replacing, the tap over the basin was so short that as you attempt to use it the water was feeding back to the work surface instead of directly down into the basin. "I love old fashioned, traditional pubs & inns, and this was perfect. Wooden beams, creaky floors, etc. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The meals were of high quality & decently priced, too, the breakfast exceptional! Plenty of parking available. I will definitely visit there again."

"Great location about 10 minutes drive into the City. Large, clean room with tea, coffee etc and fresh milk in fridge & bottled water too. Quirky room as part of an old pub so floors a little uneven and steepish staircase to get to rooms, but didn’t detract from the stay. Breakfast was delicious and staff all extremely friendly & helpful. As it’s a pub, you are obviously aware of noises from the pub during the day and evening but as soon as it closes, it’s very quiet."
