"Nice, traditional pub/restaurant with hotel rooms in a separate building. Safe car park with lots of spaces. Great food in the restaurant and really nice, helpful staff. Good spacious bedroom with tv, fridge, iron/board. Only downside was incredibly creaky and noisy floorboards, so could hear all guests coming and going and very aware that ours were noisy too, so trying to creep about if needing the loo during the night. Also, our walk-in shower door didn’t seal, so bathroom floor flooded...

"Rooms had very little sound insulation, was woken up multiple times in the night with doors banging, someone in the interconnecting room switched the TV on ridiculously loud at 1am and then was woken in the morning by someone being sick multiple times in the neighbouring room. Won’t stay again.."

"Beautiful location and property very nice but can't believe there is no lift / elevator in the building. Disappointing breakfast offering. Two breakfast buffet offerings advertised, continental £12.95 and hot £16.95 but on the first day there was no hot buffet. Hot food was ordered a la carte from the kitchen (plated) and price remained £16.95 regardless of what was ordered. Surely pricing should have been adjusted. Overall a very pleasant stay but if you're a senior or someone with disabilities...

"Excellent staff, very helpful and polite. The only problem I had was that drawing the curtains in my room was very challenging as the rings on the curtain pole didn’t glide smoothly and you had to wrench the curtain closed and open. Food was excellent and the room was quiet overlooking a peaceful garden. A good 4 out of 5."

"This is an excellent facility with good beds and bathrooms. Our stay was spoilt by surly unhelpful reception staff. After telling us that we could not check in before 3 pm, the same person checked in a crew of pilots. Then at 3:05 When apparently we qualified to check in we were given a room on the top floor. My wife had an injured knee and asked if there was a room available on a lower floor. Although we were the first to book in after 3 pm we were told there were no other rooms...

"Very expensive for what it offers, just about passible, everything felt very tired and old needs a refresh, carpet was stained, bathroom was dated and needs some major tlc. Bed was comfy and clean"

"The Owners and staff were lovely, Lynn was so helpful and went out of her way. Lynn, Ruby and the handsome Joe was a delight to talk to. Very welcoming and up for a chat, great company when feeling lonely or just want to socialize. The bedroom felt relaxing and the curtians were great at keeping out the cold. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The place is within a walking distance from the train station about a minute at most. Food is not allowed in the bedrooms just as a heads up and...

"Was good for 1 night stay. Breakfast was nice. Staff super helpful and friendly. Only negative was the slamming doors at night. The bedroom doors require a good slam to shut them so this made it a little disruptive at night. Other than that it was a great little place to stay."

"Great place - rooms are great, comfy bed, welcome green and blacks chocolate. Staff are lovely at check in and the breakfast staff are fantastic, work hard and fast - really impressed. Only thing I don't like is the 'write on paper' check in part - especially every time you come back, would be nice to be digitally stored but in the greater scheme of things its nothing."

"I stay away around 200 nights a year and this place is ok. Comfy bed Nice properly, but the staff are just woefully inept at hosting, I wasn’t offered an evening meal or breakfast. The bar staff are quite possibly the least friendly robots one can imagine. Then there is the traffic outside the rooms, staying on the ground floor close to bins, the bottle emptying goes on until 11pm and then the bin truck arrives 6 hours later in the early hours for recycling.. then you have to deal with the...

"Had an 'ok' stay... 'Most' of the staff were very helpful however found some to be slightly rude. Evening food was quite nice, had an interesting experience listening to what sounded like the manager and kitchen staff having an argument in the kitchen. Probably wouldn't stay again....."
