"The hotel room was clean. I asked for the eco service but still didn’t receive towels. At check-in I felt very rushed. As I was entering my information, I was asked for my passport, then in reaching for my passport they wanted me typing my information. Three front desk staff talking and explaining while checking in. Difficult getting a taxi. Anytime I went to the desk I was treated like I was bothering them. After traveling throughout Japan, this is not the hospitality of other top Japanese...

"If I could give 6 stars I would. This place and its staff were amazing. Our room had a private spring fed tub in the room, a sauna, a massage chair and tons of space. The pictures didn't do it justice. The staff was crazy attentive, served us an impressive breakfast and was helpful every step of the way. We would 100% stay again. "Delightfully friendly and kind hosts. Very clean place. Simple rooms, with everything you need, and shared washrooms. Nice breakfast. The shuttle to the lift is nice (although also easily walkeable in 10-15 minutes). The onsen bath downstairs is a definite bonus."

"The overall vibe of the hotel is kind of lived in and quiet. It definitely needs a little update here and there while still being able to preserve the aesthetic of Japan culture and touches. There was only one other guest staying but for some reason it showed as completely booked out. "長野マラソンに参加のため滞在しました。 その旨を伝えると、スタートは朝早いため朝食会場での食事ができないので、おにぎりとプロテインを用意してくれました。 その心遣いがありがたかったです。 基本的に問題点はなかったのですが、あえてあげるなら2つ。 1つ目は客室に向かう途中のところに喫煙スペースがあり、嫌煙家の自分は必ずその前を通らないといけないのが苦手でした。 2つ目はサウナが欲しかったです。"

"We had an amazing stay. The traditional Japanese experience was a highlight of our two week trip. As guests we were able to reserve a private onsen experience each evening, which we all loved. We also had breakfast and dinner included in our stay and the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about culture, food, and activities. We were traveling with our adult children and grandchild."
