"What we liked about the hotel was the warm welcome from the staff, the cleanliness, and the amenities, such as the games room and fitness centre. However, we would have appreciated having breakfast included. Also, our reservation was for a room with two queen-size beds, but the room we were given had two double beds instead."

"The room was nice and renovated. The location was really great. I might stay again, however the noise was a bit much. Either the walls are super thin or the other guests are really loud... I think both. The worst part was the housekeepers vacuuming before 9am in the halls. No slow mornings if staying there."

"The building itself seemed a little dated but updated and well maintained. Our room was clean, however, we discovered that one of the beds had a broken bed frame, which was resolved asap by proving us with a new (upgraded) room. Easy access to downtown Victoria (~10min drive). Overall a positive experience."

"Come! Sit! Stay! says the announcer … A perfect description for those travellers who require a one night stay before flight. Although the Waddling Dog is under renovation, it is perfect for a short stay. For a very clean stay in a newly renovated British character inn, attached to a pub and across from a gas station for a last minute top up, stay here."

"The location of this hotel was ideal. Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Washing machine was a European dual washing and drying unit. Loads were very small and took hours to dry. Also our room was right outside the elevator which are very noisy. Great pool area but this hotel has adult only hours especially on Thursdays."

"We were impressed that with some brief communication with hotel staff ahead of our arrival indicating our flight would be early and wondered if we could store our luggage in the hotel until our room was ready, it turns our they had our room ready on arrival. That was so appreciated. It is a quiet facility that is well located to a short walk to anything you may want to do in downtown Victoria. We had a suite with a kitchenette and found everything to be clean."
