"It used to be so convenient when you could walk across the street. Now it’s about a 1/2 mile walk UPHILL and completely around the property. Now you really need a taxi unless you don’t have luggage. Staff was friendly as always and room was basic as expected but definitely not cheap anymore. Breakfast was $12 for bread and cereal so we opted for a sandwich at a market down the road. Since you need a taxi now I will find a nicer place to stay. Too bad because I used to love this place."

"Beautiful and unique “hobbit cabins” in far south Tahiti… two warm pools, fish ponds, amazing flowers and foliage, fantastic sunsets, great breakfast. Be aware that the bungalows are open to the elements and there may be a short uphill walk from the parking lot. Nets are provided for the beds and we didn’t have a serious issue with bugs. There are also chickens wandering the grounds, which is fun."

"Our stay at Hotel Kaveka was absolutely amazing. The beachfront bungalow-style villa was just steps from the water and only a short walk to the hotel restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home throughout our stay. The hotel was worth every dollar spent, and my wife and I enjoyed some of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve seen in a long time right from the beach. If you’re looking for a relaxing, authentic Polynesian experience, this is the place to stay....

"All staff was extremely friendly and accommodating!! The room was very clean and very nice and comfortable as were the grounds!!! We would like to suggest that the quiet hours be enforced in reverse. Meaning we were informed of a noise complaint at 6:30 PM that was reported by a occupant next to us and quiet hours didn’t start till 9:00 PM. Keep in mind there was only 4 of us playing cards/talking/laughing inside with no music when the complaint was reported. In our opinion, the complainers...

"Reva, The Host was very helpful and friendly, the room was super large and had a great balcony overlooking the ocean and Airport. Best of all was they shuttle to and from the airport which was included. A great stay for one night or for many nights"

"The photos on the web site make these rooms look a tad bigger than what they are. These would be great for a student or a traveler with not too much luggage. We of course had two weeks worth of luggage (gotta bring snorkel gear, booze, etc), and after an 8 hour flight my wife was not having it. Staff was great in setting us up with an available hotel room (for a bit more money of course) which was very nice. Our room had a small kitchen area with a stove! "This is an absolute haven of tranquility and you don’t expect a lodge like that while driving down the East coast of Raiatea. The garden is stunning and you can read about all the plants. By the small beach is a lily pond and the hillside is a jungle of the most amazing vegetation. I was greeted very warmly and shown around, there is a beautiful communal area with a kitchen that is fully stocked and then you have little spaces in and outside of the fridge for the things you buy for yourself....
