1. Hotel is located 10 minutes to Serdika metro station and another 10 minutes to the main cathedral. Sofia is a walkable city so the location is ideal.
2. The bathroom is clean, modern, a great soaker tub, good lighting and thoughtfully offered dental kit, shower cap, shaving kit with sweet smelling bath products.
3. There’s also cloth slippers, a bathrobe & plenty of cupboard space.
4. Breakfast is very filling - eggs, cheese, pastries, juices, yogurt, cereal & good coffee
5. Housekeeping is prompt and refills the in-room bottle of complimentary water. Plus there’s kettle in the room but you may want to bring your own teas.
6. María at reception was helpful and polite. The only staff member that had a smile.
7. The bedroom is very dimly lit and the carpets and single cloth chairs look old and tired. In fact, the bedroom is a complete contrast to the modern bathroom.
8. There seems to be an unusual limit on linens as there is only one bed pillow, one hand towel and one bath towel & a teeny tiny bath mat. Not sure why they’re rationing linens, but extra towels and an extra pillow would be in line with other hotel practices.
9. While the bathroom soaker tub was excellent, the water splashes all over the floor requiring personal cleanup after every shower. Hence, a large bath mat or perhaps two bath mats are essential.
10. Hotel guest Wifi never worked for me - not once, so have a good EU data plan as backup
