"Great location, great staff"

"We had never visited the area prior to this visit. Really didn't know what to expect. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! Arrived way too early to check in. We were able to stash our luggage at the desk so we could start our vacation. Staff suggested a great lunch place and offered to text us as soon as our room was ready. The location was AWESOME! "The private pool is not private. It is near the walkways so everyone walking by can see into the pool/your room. The bar on the roof deck is small and the seats are not comfortable. The staff was awful, unfriendly, rude, and acted as we were bothering them. From the moment we arrived it was really disappointing."

"The Douglas House is really several houses, divided into comfy units, with a central area for the pool. There is a Koi pond and other seating among the lush foliage. Each unit also has its personal outdoor space and ours had three different places to sit. One of our loungers was broken and they immediately replaced it. "The house and rooms are very clean. The property is awesome, and close too everything in old key west. We are going to make the mermaid and alligator a yearly trip from now on. It is a wonderful property."

"The resort was so nice and perfect for our family of 5. We were in walking distance of restaurants and a small grocery store that has amazing breakfast. The lady that works the day shift ( I believe her name was Matilda) was so helpful and also helped us schedule a golf cart and an excursion making it super easy for us. We will be back to this resort for sure! "

"I enjoyed my stay at this property. Its a smaller 2 story place with that Old Florida look and vibe. It's not luxury but my Queen Suite lodging was perfect for me. Two good-sized rooms with daily maid service. The bed was nice and firm. The breakfast was rather simple- good if you just needed a quick bite to start the day. "We had to rooms across the street at a home they own. We were only there for 1 night. Everything was great except maybe the very thin windows. It is an old house and I don’t think there is much they can do to make it better. The noise inside was like you had a window open all night. The roosters will wake you up in the middle of the night and so will any neighbors that come home at 2 am or leave at 7 am. Other than that everything was great. "The room was kept clean. Definitely an older hotel, which is a part of the charm. The grounds were truly beautiful and well kept. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only drawback is an outdated bathroom. If you don’t mind that, then this is highly recommended stay!"

"What a lovely place to celebrate my birthday! Centrally located right on Duval Street, it's a quiet little oasis in the middle of all the fun! Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was yummy and until 10 a.m!! Property and rooms were very clean and the pool was just the perfect spot for recovering from the previous night's festivities!"

At night the guests returning were loud and obnoxious and woke us from our sleep. The guests across the hall locked themselves out of their room and were yelling and cussing at each other.
