"We stayed one night at The Castle Pub. The room was clean but extremely basic and quite tired, and overall the accommodation feels overdue for refurbishment. The location is excellent for sightseeing, but it’s also right in the middle of Cambridge’s party zone, and the noise continues well into the early hours. A good spot if you prioritise location above all else, but not ideal if you’re after comfort or a peaceful night."

"We had a pleasant stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short visit. It's a simple, no-frills place with basic amenities, but it delivered exactly what we expected. Don't judge a book by its cover. The room is renovated and unique. Breakfast was not included but you can purchase it, the day before. We asked for an English breakfast, paid in advance and was served in the morning at the scheduled time. "Does what it says on the tin. A no frills property but equally very comfortable, clean and helpful friendly staff. Despite the room being above a pub I was not disturbed by noise as I went to bed each night. Breakfast very good with a good selection."

"Had a great stay, had a lovely welcome, really comfy bed in a lovely cottage suite (room 11). Had everything you could need for a self catering stay. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Car parking included was a bonus. Would highly recommend with only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Bury St Edmunds. Would definitely stay again"
