"The room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The pool is around back and you have to walk all the way around the building to get to it but that said though not convenient, it was private back there. Shower was adequate but not great. All and all good experience and very reasonably priced."

"Whenever I'm traveling thru Southern CT on business, the Lamplighter is my go to for staying over. Clean room. Comfortable bed, plenty of Hot Water, microwave and mini fridge, good TV. Reasonable price, close to the highway. Restaurants within walking distance. It has it all."

"The hotel is very well situated on the sound and very clean. Views of marina. There was a wedding outside our room and the music thumped till 10pm. You couldn't use the balcony. After that there were folks running in the corridors during the night. We waited an hour to get a response for room service due I assume for catering to the event, the internal and external restaurants. Not exactly tje quiet new England get away we hoped for.."

The representative at the front desk, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, ensuring a seamless check-in and offering incredible personalized recommendations for the area. When we opened the door to our room, we could not believe the features that were offered to us for our stay. "The Super 8 in Old Saybrook is located in a very convenient spot. The room in which I stayed was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked--so far, so good. The TV was terrible. The horrible reception made it almost unwatchable--there were fuzzy lines going across the screen, and the sound quality was muffled. The room had quite a few lamps, but not all of them worked."

"The building and grounds need maintenance. There's rotting window sills and rain damage on the ceiling, spots of bleach on the carpets and the doorknob of a closet came off in my hand. The TV in the room is incredibly small, the size of a computer screen. You don't come to a hotel to watch TV but like showers, you expect a nice experience. The breakfasts were ok, but not great."
