Homewood Suites by Hilton St. Augustine San Sebastian
4/10 Poor
"Parking is valet-only for $29+tip. Not mentioned conspicuously on web site. The valet drives your car 30 ft to the parking lot. There is no need for valet, except to squeeze you for more money. Hot breakfast was lame. Frozen omelet patty and potato-pepper mix microwaved and served room temperature. Bathroom floor was dirty in corners. Otherwise, room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was nice, but it's hard for them to be helpful if they can't understand what you're saying."
"Very friendly staff. Great customer service, good location very close to historic district and very close to pharmacy and supermarkets. Great value and service. Clean rooms and great breakfast and amenities! If has an older look but 100% recommended"
"I reserved a room with a balcony. Was given a room with no balcony. At desk they stated only balcony room available had a broken air conditioner and they had a portable on the room. My reservation was made weeks ago and I accepted room with portable air conditioning. Came back from dinner to find the bathroom sink leaked all over the floor when you turned on water. Not a good experience for a Hyatt hotel"
"My only grievance was they put us in a handicap room which had NO BATHROOM VANITY...very inconvenient for toiletries. We had to put our stuff on the floor on towels & in the handicap chair. :-(
Other than that, it was a wonderful stay as always!
THANK YOU!!"
"THE GOOD: The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good...what you would typically expect from a "free" breakfast, and it is delivered to your door. We had a balcony, "ocean view" room, and our friends were in a "regular" room. The breakfast menus for the "free" food were different. We had a few extra and better choices. The pool and pool area were very clean and very nice with newer chairs and loungers. The grounds were neat and well maintained. We thought we selected a beachside hotel. It's not as close as the pictures perceive it. However, the walk on the boardwalk was not that bad. There is a miniature golf course next to the hotel. Very nice course...we played twice!
THE NOT SO GOOD: The only real complaint we had was with the room service. On the days we didn't have our "do not disturb" sign on the door (2 days out of 6), they delivered the towels, but just set them on the desk or TV stand. We've never been to a hotel where they didn't put the towels away on the rack. My wife had to go to the office on the other 4 days to get coffee restocked, toilet paper, and tissues. The hotel manager leaves a lot to be desired with excuses for everything. Would we go back? Possibly, but highly recommend the balcony rooms (there's only 8 - 4 up and 4 down."
"Needs maintenance overall, it's not bad but needs finishing touches, all the bathroom tile work sink and furniture needs to be updated or just finished paint and putty goes a long way but unfinished putty and sealer in cracks and borders need work"
