Enjoyable stay . The sink click clack plug didn’t work and twice it was promised to be attended too but unfortunately didn’t get repaired/replaced so we had to use tissue as a plug . Everything else was good .

They offered free parking , but fail to tell you that it's at another hotel which is about 300 metres away ! The Bull & Swan is not in the centre as advertised, but about 1/4 mile away across the river .We were booked in for 2 nights in room 4. The room was fine with large bathroom with bath & shower, & separate wc. But access was via very steep winding stairs , which was difficult as we are both in our mid 80's. Breakfast had good choice of fruit, yoghurt etc. But the hot section was very poor ! We had one evening meal which was average quality.

Had a lovely stay here the room was fabulous the bed was so comfy we stayed in the wild horse room it had a huge bathroom with bath and walk in shower and the toilet was separated from the bathroom the staff are friendly and nothings to much trouble Great little touches like fresh milk and homemade cookies which were delicious

Full of character

Lovely pub/hotel with lots of old world charm. Clean and comfortable in a great location. Stayed for Sunday lunch which was excellent. Bedroom was spacious and had everything you could need. My only very slight negative was the traffic noise, as our room was at the front.

Great location within easy walking distance for centre of Stamford. Rooms very good and comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good. Would definitely recommend.

It's lovley, and offers good value considering the alternatives in that location. Quirky room which we liked a lot, and clean. A particular member of staff, could have been more accommodating, and welcoming as guests, but maybe got her on a bad day. Worth a stay.

Can’t fault it

Beautiful ancient building. Professional and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Bed was supremely comfy. Can’t fault it. It’s close to the main road but the hotel are upfront about that. Beautiful veg garden tops it off.

Very nice rooms and excellent breakfast. Beds really comfortable. Only downside is that the room you are in can be noisy with the road traffic. We booked late and got a roadside room which did have traffic noise. best to see if a room in the rear is available. Breakfast offers a large choice and the eggs benedict was lovely. The room was very large and we even received complimentary cookies and a small bottle of flavoured gin which was a nice touch. Excellent coffee making facilities too. Overall very enjoyable stay.

Disappointing room, but great breakfast

Room a little gloomy, no drawers or any small cupboard to hang just one or two clothes items for an overnight stay. Tea/coffee facilities good and little fridge a bonus. Shower wasn't as good as it could have been. Breakfast and morning staff were fantastic though - lady who served breakfast and checked us out was really lovely.

Pleasant stay

Clean & comfortable room above the pub. Very comfy bed and good bath/shower. Bathroom and loo were outside of our room behind a curtain, which was fine for us, though did feel like anyone could potentially go in as there was direct access from the street up some stairs (unlikely, of course, but felt a bit strange!) Old & atmospheric, but felt could have done with a few touch ups. Thought it was a bit expensive for the money, though appreciate Stamford is pricey. Food in the pub was lovely, and friendly staff.

Needs investment !!

Very tired accommodation. Needs refurb / freshening. In fact I’d go so far as to describe the bedrooms as poor. Soft furnishings / curtains also need replacing. Lots of potential but unrealised. Staff friendly.
