Best Western Plus Hood River Inn

8/10 Good
"Upon arrival, the check-in was simple and quick, and the desk staff was very helpful. Our room was ground floor, with sliding door leading to the back lawn overlooking the Columbia River, absolutely beautiful. The "river walk" sidewalk ran right behind the property, and made for an easy outdoor leisure stroll in the evenings, or just to head to the pool. The pool and hot tub were wonderful, the grounds were clean, and though the gym looked adequate, we never got around to using it. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious enough, and the mini-fridge just big enough for us to keep our daily food cool between excursions. The only possible down-sides are the age of the units, darker, older carpets, AC units, dark hallways, and lots of spiders (mostly outside around the property). Our room always smelled a bit musty, but opening the sliding door for that gorge breeze always helped. Ground floor units of course have the curse of hearing your upstairs neighbors, and this was no different, but it wasn't too bad. Anyway, enough about that, I can't say enough about the location - I would stay here again just for that!"
