"The room was disgusting and will never go back there after what we had seen in the room we have plenty of photos and videos to show and put online"

"Quirky rooms but very unclean, tv was like watching a tv from 2010 terrible quality."

"Lovely stay - fast check in, great lunch in the restaurant and an even better breakfast was had. We got a b&b deal through Expedia which included a full continental breakfast for starters and then a hot meal. I had eggs Benedict and my husband had the full English. Very nice setting and outlook. Only downside is that the room gets very hot - had to use the fan all night. And then there were some noisy occupants above us who decided to put tv on around 2am!!"

"Very nice surprise with the location at the bottom of Roseberry Toppin , didn’t know about this until we arrived . The hotel is a treat to stay there. We were going to a friends house in Whitby and travelling from west of Scotland. Hence it was good to stop off , we visited Stokesley near bye and loved the English village life . We will stop here again and the cost was worth it."

"Room dated very uncomfortable bed, no WiFi in room and very noisy from pub till 1130pm"

"Lovely junior garden room with a very nice view! Very cosy and dog friendly! Super food served and the staff especially Jane & Lauren were so lovely and gave super service! Would highly recommend staying or dining here!"

"Very nice, big room. Very comfortable bed, good bathroom. Lovely pub. Great cooked breakfast. Friendly, good value for money."

"Friendly welcome. Efficient check-in at the bar. Spotlessly clean bedding and towels. Comfy bed. Bathroom clean but in need of refurb (eg tile grout/ sealant)."

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the middle of the North York Moors National Park. The room was very clean, the linen of high quality and the bed was very comfortable. All the amenities worked. The rooms are above the pub so there was some chatter and music. This wasn’t a problem for me. The breakfast was delicious. I would stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay."

"This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August."

"Staff were amazing 10/10 Food amazing Very accommodating Rooms says soundproof but wasn’t and corridors smell of the food, overall though we had a lovely time and used as a base and we enjoyed the food they served 10/10"

"Fantastic stay. Great location. Staff wonderful. Great breakfast Highly recommend"

"The Village Inn was the perfect place for a stopover while travelling further south. Ideally located a short distance from Northallerton. Large car park, restaurant with a really good menu choice and very reasonably priced. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with heating you can control yourself. Powerful shower and very hot water. Breakfast was great, with choices of full English, Vegan, cereals etc. I would highly recommend the Village Inn to everybody looking for somewhere to stay...

"Good food and comfortable room"

"I've stayed here, overnight, on two occasions in the last month. During both stays I have come down for a continental breakfast either at 7.45am or 8.30am only to find the through door into the breakfast area was locked and no one around to give access. This meant I had to go to a nearby shop to buy breakfast at an extra cost to me even though it was already part of my booking cost. On both occasions complained afterwards to the pub manager and received no apology as he stated breakfast was at...

"The lady who checked in was so lovely, even took us to our room. Every member of staff asks if you need help finding anything and direct you to were you need to be. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast included in the room stay was 10/10."

"Room was clean but very cold couldn’t get the underfloor heating to work Breakfast was disappointing plate was oily eggs were overcooked beans were cold as if the were straight out of the tin as was the mushroom and tomato sausages ,bacon ,black pudding and hash brown were lukewarm and didn’t come with toast or fried bread"
