"We chose this property because of the high ratings. It was awesome! The highlight of our trip was sipping Hot Cider (with tequila) by the fire. Wonderful view. The grounds were immaculate and decorated nicely for fall. It was our first trip to Mackinac Island and I’m afraid a very high bar has been set. We stayed in the Straights suite in the mansion. Only complaint there is I think that suite is over the kitchen. You can tell when they turn on the fans for the day. Seem to be in the room under the bed. We are early risers and late to bed, so really not an issue for us. Others might consider that before booking that room. I highly recommend for"

Cabins of Mackinaw

"We stayed in the smaller cabins that are right behind the newer larger looking ones that you can see from out front. They were definitely dated, but still not too bad. It could use some upgrading like tearing the old nasty carpet out and maybe installing hardwood floors, laminate floors, or something along that line. Beyond that everything else was fairly decent did not see any major bugs other than an occasional spider, but that’s to be expected seeing how you’re literally staying in a cabin. Overall, not a bad place to stay for the price."

"We stayed here with the previous owners in 2023. I have to say this visit was so much better. The staff was friendly and helpful. Sheena even went and made sure the hot tub was correctly set so I could relax after my drive up. We definitely will be staying here again!"
