George was a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend staying at The Star Inn if you are in Stroud and in need of a good night's sleep, a nice pub atmosphere and last but not least a good breakfast, provided by George! Thanks again for everything, George.
We had a wonderful two nights stay!
George & Grace looked after us so well from checking in, during stay and checking out. They even gave us free dessert!
The food was delicious also.
Really lovely location with an amazing view from the garden and our room. Hospitality was second to none and the food was really great. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Star Inn. The hospitality staff were beyond hospitable-Very attentive to us. We could have used a fan as it was warm but other than that very comfortable beds and clean rooms. The dinner menu of Greek food is very nice and of all the full English breakfasts we had on our Cotswold tour this was stood out to us and the absolute best one. There’s a lovely outdoor area for drinks or nibbles and a wonderful crowd of friendly locals. We loved it!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Staff were wonderful, the room was clean and food and beer were nice. Only downside on me was that the kitchen didn’t work because it was under renovating, but it doesn’t matter.
Really nice place to stay in a lovely area.
Host was very welcoming and helpful, kitchen closed due to renovations but he let us know of a breakfast place up the road where the locals were also lovely.
Bed was comfy and I wish I could have taken that duvet home!
Good range of drinks and the cider on tap was really nice
A charming Public house originally built in the 1700s with few rooms upstairs and in an attached cottage. A short 10 minute walk from a portion of the Cotswold way, including the Harefield beacon, with a view from Wales to Glouchester. Menu includes some Greek dishes. Proprietors very hospitable and helpful.

Great location. Convenient to have restaurant and bar on site. Owner, (George) was very friendly and helpful.
Bathroom was extremely small.
Carpet in room needs updating.
Good price for two double beds on a Saturday night. Walk to and from Stroud centre across the fields straightforward. Welcoming check-in, good wifi and everything you'd expect for sheets, towels and toiletries.
Had a Comfortable stay in village pub B and B type setting. Room quiet, with nice scenic views. Had a nice 30 minute walk into central Stroud along pathways.
Staff were somewhat preoccupied at check-in as they were busy serving customers whilst rugby match was on in pub. Tricky to checkout at 9 AM as no-one was around until we phoned the pub phone number.
Could do with an information folder in room to give details of wifi code.
Ken was a consummate host and I have nothing but good things to say. Yes, the room could bear a bit of updating but it was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and private. Overall I wouldn't bother looking for anywhere else to stay in the area, i'd just head straight there. A good honest pub that retains the character and good times of such an important traditional British Pub. I wish more were still like it.
Great little accommodation in a lovely area. Reasonably priced room at £90. Breakfast was offered at the accommodation and was additional cost. No evening meal.
Room was double bed and sofa bed with fantastic views across the surrounding countryside. Kitchen facilities with free tea and coffee as well as table and chairs.
Bed was very comfy and room temp overnight just right.
Warm welcome from the owners who were very accommodating.
Traditional English pub not a swanky hotel but great value.
Just DON’T. We were misled by pics and text - paid £102 for a shoebox room with minimal facilities and staff not overly helpful. We chose as it looked like they had a Greek restaurant plus steaks - turned up to be told they only do pizzas! We went somewhere else to eat. No breakfast as we are told the toaster isn’t working! Total joke of a place. Didn’t even give them any trade arms the bar. Never to return.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Nice room with a very comfortable bed, but could hear every movement of the people in the room above us.
