Suigō Itako Ayame-en (Maekawa Iris Garden) in Itako-shi, Ibaraki

Ayame Garden in Itako holds an Ayame (Japanese Iris) Flower Festival every year from late May to June.

The iris come in various shades of white, purple, and yellow. The garden covers approx. 1.3 hectares (3.2 acres) next to the Maekawa River and the iris can be viewed from both the garden path and bridges above it.

The room was very small for two people. No drawers. No access to one side of the bed. Otherwise hotel was lovely but for long stay far too small.
