"Superb pub and rooms steeped in local history - Robert Plant started his career here playing blues guitar aged 15 in the upstairs blues club (sadly not there anymore but the history is palpable). "Parking was easy and secure, staff friendly. Rooms basic and a little dated. but overall value for money. This is well run hotel, with good potential. Sadly the local area is clearly struggling, for once what was a busy bustling hight street is now a ghost town. "

No water in the room, no room service for the price we paid I would expect more from it! The breakfast was poor and very basic but Very nice hotel grounds and surroundings. No lift which is difficult if you have lots of bags and are on upper floors."

"Breakfast was very good, but parking was a nightmare. Information said the railway station was open until 19.30 .. we went to look ... 18.00! There is nowhere to drop off bags etc. abd my eife uses a mobility scooter, so, we would not be able to get anything to eat in the evening. I had to carry our case from the railway station and dusmantlr the scotter and made several trips up stairs to store it in the very small room, then, carry it downstairs again to go out.
