10/10 Excellent
"Great apartments and a lovely space to go unwind and chill. Great for family time!!
Spar on-site is very handy and within 20 minutes walk a couple of other bigger supermarkets.
Anfi del Mar is 7 minutes by car and it’s a lovely beach if you want a day away from the pool. "

Hotel Mogan Princess & Beach Club- All Inclusive

"The physical state of the rooms needs attention, but they are closing later this year for renovation. Everything worked fine, there were just lots of little things like lose for handles, crack in the bathroom tile, shower door difficult to close.
Plenty of choice for food if you don't have allergies, also plenty of vegetarian choice. I wouldn't stay if coeliac, but if you are gluten intolerant then you'd be ok. They label all the buffet with allergens & have GF sliced bread, biscuits & muffins. No GF toaster. They make GF pasta & pizza on request (order in advance). One incident where the "GF" crackers were in plain packaging (not labelled GF or Schar, like they previously were). They looked the same as the crackers on the buffet & tasted the same. On questioning the chef, he said they were definitely GF, but I didn't eat any more. They disappeared the next day & there were no more crackers that week.
Pool was nice, didn't go to the entertainment but plenty of places to sit with a drink in the evening. The free bus to the beach is good, and the steep hill is VERY steep. Very limited parking at the hotel & very few places to park on the hill. There is a free car park at the bottom of the hill- but again, it's STEEP!! "

Radisson Blu Resort, Gran Canaria
6/10 Okay
"Large room with nice view but you can tell it’s an aging building, mattresses and pillows are on their last leg- all super deflated / soggy.
Not worth paying extra for the jacuzzi on the terrace - it’s basically a slightly larger version of a bathtub that doesn’t keep the heat. It takes you an hour to fill up and gets cold pretty quickly- not a proper hottub- disappointing.
Food was mediocre, wilted salad and mostly yellow / fried food at the hot counter. None of the pastries, cakes etc are made on site. Little variety. That said, it’s ok if you want pasta, burger or tries with chicken nuggets. Not worth 40euros per head.
Staff were very nice though and property was clean. "

"Breakfast was fabulous and the hotel has great amenities. The Michelin restaurants were world class but the general restaurant (1890) was ok but there was too big a difference between the quality of the restaurants.
The biggest issue was the main bar where the service in the evening was very poor with a 25 min wait to get a drink. Many people were unhappy about this.
Overall the hotel is very nice but be prepared for the bar.."

Occidental Roca Negra – Adults Only
4/10 Poor
"We had a poor experience and multiple issues with our room and were informed by reception, "sorry, this is the standard"....
1) I accept not all rooms have a sea view, but ours was looking into a cliff face with virtually no natural light entering the room... For 230 euros! The room felt like a utility closet that had been repurposed. Unacceptable.
2) The room had a mouldy, putrid smelling AstroTurf 'terrace' that faced said cliff. See attached photos of the florid mould.
3) The WiFi in the room was broken / could not even load a WhatsApp message.
If this is the 'standard' that Occidental hotels holds themself to then they should reclassify this as a 2-3* hotel. I have stayed in cleaner, better 3* hotels for 1/3rd of the price.
We would certainly not recommend anyone stays here or mistakes it for a luxury experience.
It is a box-ticking "4*" hotel which on closer inspection does not live up to this grade. "
