So clean, our room was immaculate so were all the other areas of the hotel. Really lovely stay, fabulous breakfast and dinner!

Could not fault the accommodation the hotel was lovely however you definitely would need a car as the bus service wasn't very regular and taxi were really expensive . Breakfast and dinner was very good however no other pub in the village .

A nice quite pub, tucked away in the countryside offering a relaxed evening meal and drink after a hard days work. Rooms were clean, warm and comfortable.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and they provided really nice toiletries. We dined there in the evening and can highly recommend the food. We would definitely stay again when next in the area.

Stayed the night in the converted skittle ally - Pre-Booked a table for Dinner days before, Service was really poor - Left for 35 Minutes with no one attempting to take order, had to go to bar to complain - staff more interested in chatting with locals then serving the tables - food was dropped on the table, at no point did anyone ask if the food was ok, left feeling like we were not welcome - a complete shame because the food we did receive was amazing ! clearly a great kitchen team, let down by poor front of house. Cleanliness was 11/10 - don't know how they keep the vintage pub and rooms so clean, lots of exposed wood work and brick, immaculate in the room and restaurant. Room was "ok" bed was firmer than we like - sockets for charging phones were not very accessible - bathroom would benefit from a mirror on the empty towel rail wall for shaving - shower was excellent - loved the mini fridge. Breakfast was excellent - we realised that the greeting we had for dinner isn't what is expected - we had really attentive staff, great selection of food - bacon was spot on an really nice eggs, and proper bread ! Internet and mobile coverage is non existent - seriously need to consider starlink to get something better - no chance of catching up on emails, and work - maybe that's a good thing...

We stayed for one night en route to a week’s holiday in Cornwall. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, making sure our stay was a good one. We had reserved a table for our evening meal (along with our dog) and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Simply the best

Super stay. Food first class. Comfy bed and great pillows. Staff first class. Fantastic breakfast only one down side no USB socket in room. Ok I forgot to bring my plug in. 😂 but wouldn’t be a nice thing. One of our best stays.

Nice place to stay

Nice place for a short stay. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Bed was hard but otherwise the room was excellent. Our only issue was the guests and/or staff smoking outside directly under our room. With no air conditioning we had to keep the window open.

Great place with lovely people

The new owners of the Greyhound Inn had only taken over on the 1st of August we arrived on the 4th and while there were obviously a few little hiccups with the handover Veranik and her husband together with the staff made us more than welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was good both the breakfast and the evening meals. The Inn is ideally suited as a base with so many attractions in the area including several national trust houses. Most enjoyable we will definitely go back there.

Hotel not available

The markings above do not really relate to the hotel but rather reflect the performance of Expedia. When we arrived at the hotel we found that it had been taken over the previous day and accomodation was not available. The new people had tried to contact us without success (it seems that Expedia gave them the wrong phone number). They were very helpful and apologetic and helped to find alternative accomodation albeit at much increased cost. We were very disapppointed as we had stayed there before and it was excellent. The performance of Expedia was dreadful; why did they not inform us of the problem. Oue email address was available.

Overall good value stay, not much to do around hotel of an evening but beer/food onsite perfectly acceptable. Friendly staff and comfy rooms, if a little dated now.

A Perfect Venue

A perfect venue. The service was excellent and the food was good. Although we only stayed for one night we will certainly return as it will be a good base to explore the local area. We liked the character of the place and found our room very comfortable.

Good food and service

Used as stopover on journey from Norfolk to Devon and wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff, good choice of beer and cider. Room comfy and clean. Dinner was lovely too. Good breakfast. Would definitely use again

Lovely stay, very welcoming

We had a very enjoyable two night weekend stay, where everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable with everything we needed and the full english breakfast was very tasty! We will certainly look to visit again soon.

A welcome break down to Cornwall

We picked this hotel due to its location and it had good reviews. The bedroom was huge and it had everything we needed. We ate in the pub at night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I am coeliac and I enjoyed my breakfast too, but next time I’ll give them more warning for gluten free bread as I forgot mine. Overall a lovely stay and will definitely be stopping there again. The photo is a view from the breakfast area - just lovely 😊
