"Rooms were clean but dated and not well maintained — ripped curtains, dents and dings in bed headboard and walls. Staff didn’t allow for late check out (even when we tried asking for one late check out in our party of 5 rooms). Price was relative to the location to the beach, not the hotel itself. Shuttle driver was wonderful."

"This is our second time staying here and it is lovely overall. We love the valet service and the "convient" store inside the lobby. It is located right in the action so you can really enjoy downtown la jolla from your balcony. We are seagull lovers so it's always a bonus to see so many in the distance. It is quite loud, the garbage men come daily and early, I am an early riser so it wasn't a problem. It is located by so many restaurants and shops + a few great gyms... One thing I will note is...

"What a great location with a great restaurant. Important TIP: Use the adjacent bike rental for excursions. Once you drive anywhere, you may have trouble coming back to Tower 23 because the area is over the top popular."
