"We had a fantastic stay at The Family Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and quiet. And the breakfast was amazing! Just a few minutes’ drive from the Tramway Museum, or a lovely 40-minute walk along the canal to the Hurt Arms in Ambergate. In the end, we were sorry that we were only staying the one night; wish we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Derbyshire!"

"The staff were very welcoming, helpful and interacted with customers warmly, we were watching while having a drink and meal in the bar as well as our own experience. The room looked liked it had been redecorated fairly recently and was clean. Two tower fans were provided which helped as the sun shone into our room in the day. "Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub."

"We only stayed for one night however were amazed at how low the price of £131.41 was for the service and facilities. Good size room, nice shower, complimentary drinks in fridge, complimentary packed lunch for the following day and a good breakfast choice. When you consider that this is also peak holiday season it is exceptional value for money for the room we stayed in."
