"The building inside and outside are old and different from the photos. The interior was clean but not well maintained. The elevator was making loud noise and strange sounds both when start moving and stopping. The main light over the ceiling in our room was not working and had not been fixed. Breakfast was good and the staff who served us food at Bistro was very polite and friendly."

"Wistful location and a beautiful room. Very large with a nice sitting area, decorated with a spa like touch. Very comfy bed, waffle towels and bathrobe. Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!"

"The staff and room we had were lovely, however soundproofing between the rooms could be significantly better… I was awoken in the middle of night to a woman screaming at the top of her lungs for what felt like forever…. I did call the front desk and they seemed to take care of what I later found out was a domestic dispute… but unfortunately that completely ruined my one “peaceful” night away from my kids, and we were not offered any discount or anything other than a “sorry about that”"

"Perfect location for downtown activities. Cool to be in 100-y-o building just around the corner from where my Dad worked in early 1950s. Price a bit steep for one room but we stayed just one night. The advantage of a small room is that A/C works fast and well :) Very clean premises, with a lovely big bathtub. Super comfortable bed. An unexpected bonus which didn’t seem advertised was the fridge and freezer in the room - weld bought a cooler thinking there wasn’t one. Thanks again"

"Staff at the desk was friendly. Room was small, bed was ok to sleep for one night. Nice and warm shower except the top corner of the bath tub has very noticeable black moldy stains. IMy husband was really worrying about the inhaling of germ or moldy bacteria spores through the streamer shower."
