"Amazing staff(very kind and detailed oriented) and beautifully traditional ryokan that I enjoyed staying here. But the a bit strict about the hours- the entrance door is locked between 12am to 6 am so if you are an avid runner or late night party person, you better not stay here. Also they are quite flexible that they let me to use the library for my business meeting at 5 am in Japanese time(4 pm EST) but there is no business area that you can use at their non working hours(library opens at 8...

"This ryokan is really special. We had an amazing first night in Kyoto. Everything from the service to the food was top notch. Our attendant was very kind and helpful. The dinner was so beautiful and well presented. I felt so relaxed spending time here. The pictures don’t do it full justice- it is really beautiful. If you are looking for a traditional Japanese inn experience away from the touristy insanity- this is the spot."

The size felt just right, the ambiance was lovely, and the staff were warm and accommodating, they even helped arrange a massage reservation for me when my phone wouldn't dial out. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the whole experience felt well worth it. We were genuinely sad to check out. Until next time"

"Location was a strong point, close to Doton Plaza with transportation access, access also to restaurants and scenic canal. Property functional , staff helpful but experience limited as little english spoken (understandable since this is Japan). Towels thin and worn but clean. This is a ryokan, so seating all on the floor which may be difficult for those with hip/knee problems."
