"The decor throughout the hotel is somethIng to behold. Gorgeous original entrance to the lift, quirky decorations everywhere. It really added to the experience of a nights stay in a hotel. The rooms were very different from the norm and very clean. The staff were very upbeat and welcoming. We had a few long chats in the bar with the night shift manager. He was so good giving us a lot of historical info about the hotel and also the surrounding area. All in all, it’s a place we will defo be back...

"Lovely hotel. In a fantastic location right by the entrance of Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Worth paying the extra for a room at the back looking out over the Maned Wolves and Lar Gibbons. We loved watching the animals from our room. Beds were comfy, shower was great and the toiletries smelt lovely. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend and stay again. "Had a slow drain on the shower, due to the way the shower isn’t a tray this meant water flooded the rest of the bathroom. Reported to be reception and this wasn’t fixed. Had to use a towel wedged against the shower door and then turn the water down. Asked for more milk sachets (two for a family room with 4 isn’t enough) at reception and got directed to the bar, had a huge wait whilst they faffed around serving just one person - god help anyone if ordering a round then! "We got an update and room was fab. Lovely decor and bathroom and shower excellent. Loved the wee touches like espresso machine and towel robes. Hotel staff amazing, especially the waiters in the restaurant. Gorgeous lounge, bar and library with lots of comfy seating and beautiful views over the grounds. Pool and sauna etc really great.
