"Staff was great. Very friendly. I've stayed at 4 hotels this trip to Japan. This staff was the best at recommending things to do and what to see given the short amount of time I had in Kyoto. They even helped give me good tips to get back to Kyoto station via train with my luggage. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. The location was a concern at first, but it was a great location getting home at the end of the day and also not too far from the forrest. Really appreciated...

"Rakuro is in the kind of special location where we would choose to live if we lived in Kyoto. Its concept and setting made us genuinely happy. Being close to the Gyoen National Park and surrounded by many artisanal spots showed us that we had chosen the perfect area. It’s a very calm place, away from tourist crowds. "clean and spacious room with hospitable staff in a central location (right outside marutamachi station). our room came with a washer dryer unit which was convenient even though we didn't get to use it! the hotel is also right across a family mart, mcdonald's and 7-eleven so it was really convenient."
