"Beautiful property with helpful and attentive staff. The hotel grounds were well kept and we even found some great walking paths (in both directions) from the beach. The beach itself is a little rocky but but very beautiful to snorkel from and we saw such beautiful fish and many sea turtles!
We also appreciated the well stocked market for coffee, snacks and gifty items. We did not use the spa, but it smelled wonderful on our way to the gym. The Goop store is an excellent touch and the hotel...

"This is the best hotel that we have stayed at. The amenities, staff, rooms, the spa, the adult pool, the food, the beach…all 5 stars! Swam with manta rays and did the longest running luau that was well done. Have been coming here since the 80’s and it only keeps getting better. We love the Mauna Kea and the Big Island of Hawaii."

"I understand this was an eco lodge. However, there is no air and little cross breeze. Our bed was broken, there were not enough towels (only 3 for 5 people), we were encouraged to shower by turning the water off while we used soap, the pots and pans were so dirty that some could not be cleaned. The worst was that the staff was unprofessional. They did not communicate effectively, they were dismissive about simple requests (like "how to check in") and once we did check in we NEVER heard from...
