"There wasn't any staff when we arrived (4:30pm) and had to use the kiosk to check in. There was a guy from India with a fairly heavy accent, which made it more difficult to check in. Somewhere it needs to tell you what you need to check in with, ie license plate number, drivers license etc. Also, closed captions of conversation would be very helpful for hearing impaired and/or loud lobbies. Even my 10 y/o couldn't understand what he needed from us.
The room floor was absolutely filthy! I mean black. Like it had not been mopped in 5 years. We did not have a microwave (which was shown in the pictures) and the bathroom door would NOT stay closed. The sink backed up if you ran the water. They did not provide enough towels, we had to get them from the pool and they are not crisp white! I cannot vouch for the staff as the only folks we saw were the cleaning crew and they didn't have much to say nor a smile...
The grounds are nice. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and nice. The pool was a bit cold, but when you get the courage to get in, it is quite refreshing. There's plenty of parking. They are also pet friendly, which was great! Very east access to the freeway and close to the beaches,
Overall, I would not stay in a Motel 6 ever again - and this was our first time using this chain. I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton, but this was beyond grungy."
