"The Warring House is a beautiful property. However, my room had a strong musty smell to it. It was quite strong, and I had to sleep with the windows open. When I returned home, everything that I had packed had a very bad odour to it. The breakfast was fantastic! The dinners at night, not included in the price, were quite nice. The problem was the wait staff. Some nights they were very kind, but other nights they were rather rude in how they approached the table - not introducing themselves, or even saying hello. Just dropping a menu on my table and walking away. When I ordered my meal, the same person just stood at the table, took my order and walked away without talking to me. The same service was received when the food was brought to my table. Very disappointing, to be sure. The other issue was that the online information said that the reception closes at 8 pm. Upon my arrival at 7 pm, the reception area was dark and locked up. I was really looking forward to my stay here, but I did leave somewhat disappointed."

"There is evidence of upgrading in our room particularly. Needs a good coat or paint on the trim doors and stair rails. The room is clean, comfortable bed, fireplace and a large jacuzzi. All great. The view across the lake from the patio is spectacular. The main dining and reception areas are beautifully set up, a good selection of meals that were well presented and tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful."
