"Beautiful, stylish decor and interesting room design. Excellent location and great bar underneath. Unfortunately the room was cold, really cold, and smelt a bit damp. Would recommend a good airing out and running the heat pump for a bit, maybe an extra blanket for the sooks like me."

"Wow!! Our stay at the Sofitel exceeded expectations! We have stayed at quite a few different ones around NZ and we have to say that the Sofitel is in a league of its own! The staff were amazing and couldn’t help us enough. We were only there for one night but we didn’t want to leave - we will be back. Absolutely worth it. Close to lampton quay too so very central."

Good location by the harbour and opposite the Te Papa museum. Parking a short walk away. Register your car with the hotel to save on parking fees. "Location was fantastic, we had been specifically looking for a room that had a terrace/balcony so we could open windows but on arrival we were told this hotel does not have them, although that was noted on the booking as available on expedia. Disappointed on arrival but we stayed anyway and had a lovely peaceful night in the city and great access to everything we came for. Inclusive parking was great though you can't re-enter the carpark once checked in , it has to stay there till check out so...

"Great location but no reception desk. They got my email wrong so we had no idea how to check in or where to park. Parking was expensive. Construction going on so foyer and lift a bit dirty. Loose tap and leaky shower hose. Bed was ok but sofas weren't. Had no milk so bought our own."
